When I book through my TA, I see the gratuity included in my total cruise bill, she ask if I want to pay in advance, and that's always a yes, so there will be no surprises at the end as far as paying gratuities 😁

Gratuities have never been included in the price of any of the cruises I’ve been on. You can either pay the gratuities in advance of the cruise or have it billed to your account automatically on the ship. I’ve always just expected the charge. The ship crew take such good care of the guests on all the different cruise lines I’ve been on & I’m happy to pay it. The people working on these ships work really hard.

When you book, you can choose to pre-pay gratuities or pay them onboard. Pre-paying them avoids any increases the cruise line may enact between your booking and sailing date.

Virgin is the only line that includes gratuity in the price on North American bookings
