Review summary

A family get together cruise that delivered what I expected and did not disappoint.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Overall smooth. It’s a new terminal and I think they’re still working out the details.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Hectic but satisfying.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Didn’t do many activities. Just enjoyed the time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Very good production of the musical Mamma Mia. The comedians were disappointing.

Children's Programs

No children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room attendant was spot on and Augustine, our waiter at Giovannis, went above and beyond in servicing our table.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Clean, however there were several men’s rooms that had at least one nonfunctional sinks. There was also one elevator that had issues.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
As expected. It did not disappoint.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
The city is okay but the area is very industrial.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
No excursions. The port looks like it was made specifically for tourists and I think it was.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

4 out of 5
Not much to do unless you’re going on an excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
No excursion. This port was all shopping near the ship but there is a town you can taxi to and get more of the local flavor.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and fast, especially if you’re self disembarking. The passport check-in was unbelievably good using facial recognition technology.
