Review summary

Wonderful, relaxing cruise. It’s great to be back and be able to enjoy the high seas

Embarkation

Extremely easy. We drove from Sarasota and parked at the terminal. Arrived about 30 minutes ahead of our scheduled boarding time and had no issues with being told we were early. From parking the car and entering the boat about 30 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR was wonderful. Our servers, Wendell and Joey were very attentive. Only reason I didn’t give 5 starts is that twice my dinner selection was not available. The quality of the food was very good . We did not go to any of the specialty restaurants. My husband and I both enjoy the set dining time and having the same table companions every evening. We also went twice for breakfast to the MDR, but chose to visit the windjammer as service on our second day was extremely slow. (50 minutes wait). My husband ask if we were in the ‘do not disturb section’

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The band, Centerpiece in the Dazzels lounge were just fabulous. Packed house every night. Also, the show Mama Mia was of broadway quality. Don’t miss it!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room attendant, Roberto was great, nothing too much trouble. I do feel that the ship was under staffed for the amount of people on board (5300 and not at full capacity). While the staff were friendly and helpful, it was evident that they were at times overwhelmed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was very clean. This is a huge ship with lots of walking, we will definitely try a small ship next time. This is just our personal preference and not a mark against the ship. It’s impressive and very well managed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice size for 2 people, we love the balcony and always make use of it. Our little settee had some stains on it, so I just put a bath towel down when sitting.

Ship tip

Book the MDR and a set time for dinner every night. people in the cabin next to us did complain that they waiting over an hour the fist night to get a table. Also we took our own tumbles for water, which is available at most bars - you help yourself. I also took a little fan for our cabin.

Disembarkation

Again, no issues. We chose a late time as we were in no rush to leave. We paid $120 to park our car for the 8 days we were at sea.

So glad you enjoyed. We loved The Allure. Beautiful ship, delicious food and great service. Next time you are leaving from Ft Lauderdale, check out Park N’ Go to park your car. They are great and much cheaper than parking at the port. They are only about 2 miles from the port, continuous shuttles which take you right to your ship.
