Review summary

This was a great deal on , but the royal Caribbean ship review i had a very bad experience. The ship is great, but they do not care about your experience. Me and my mother had the worst experience ever. This vacation was supposed to be for my birthday, and they failed to notify me that there will be no birthday decorations in my room. I paid for cake, strawberries, specialty dinners all for it to be ruined. When i first got on the ship nothing was delivered to my room, nothing was decorated. But my money is gone out my bank account. very upsetting. It's been 3 weeks since the cruise and i still did not receive my refund. think twice before traveling on this ship. We stayed on the 7th floor but had to dine on the lowest floor 3rd floor, which made my mother seasick. We asked if we can be placed on a higher floor, they turned their backs to us. we will not be back.

Cabin / Stateroom

the bed was hard as a rock, very uncomfortable the entire voyage. Shower is very small, sink is small. Mini refrigerator was broken, stains on the carpet, dirty couch in the room. Forgot my birthday decoration, did not alert me till the day of the cruise.

Do not travel on this ship for any special events, because it will be ruined.

very hot, they let the workers eat before the guest. i saw them rejecting pregnant women, and other guest from the ship. we were not allowed to eat. i feel there should always be options to eat right when getting off the boat.

I'm sorry you did not receive the birthday decorations but that truly should not be a major concern for an adult. I had a similar experience a few weeks ago when the champagne and truffle chocolates that I had pre-ordered for our anniversary were not delivered to the room. Unlike you, I did not let this minor disappointment spoil the cruise. Also, as others have noted, a lower deck has less movement than a higher deck; and will not contribute to seasickness. The level of enjoyment on any cruise depends primarily on the attitude of the guest.

Ha the shower was small! Funny one. The lower you go the less likely to get seasick. Geez. I don't think cruising is for you.

I spent my birthday on the Allure this past February and it was awesome. Cabin was decorated, was sang to in MDR. Going back on the Allure 9/25/22.

Thanks for the review. It sounds like cruising is probably not for you. Being on a lower deck actually helps with the sickness. I’m surprised at how many adults still want a big celebration for their birthday.

Soooo... It seems like once you didn't get your decorations everything was going to be horrible in your view. Allure has washing stations outside the buffet, and horrible drink package? The only thing that could be horrible about that is the price you paid. You get unlimited drinks! You had a problem with the workers eating first? As hard as they work, they deserve to eat first in my opinion, there is plenty of food for everyone on a cruise ship. Lower decks are the place to lessen seasickness, so moving her up would not have helped. Maybe because your mom had to go down 4 decks was the real reason? I am very sorry that you didn't get the decorations, I hope the refund comes soon. If you cruise again try to shake off the stuff you can't control and have a great time with the stuff you can.

Most main dining and specialty dining on cruise ships are on the lower decks which are closest to the kitchens. Your mother should have had motion sickness medication or a sea band or a patch. Why are you blaming her seasickness on the ship. That being said I am sorry you didn’t receive the birthday decorations you purchased.

How could the lack of some decorations ruin your entire birthday, were you going to spend all day in your cabin looking at them? And why would you stand waiting for an hour for someone to seat you, wouldn’t you just go elsewhere? Also I’m sure you could speak to someone about issues with the bed etc did you try that?

I’m curious, how did dining on a lower floor make one seasick? The lower in the ship, the less motion one typically feels. 🤔 Also, why would you let missing decorations, decorations you bought for yourself, ruin a cruise? I get it, it wasn’t what you expected, and you’re out a few bucks, but don’t let that ruin a good time. You were on a cruise, enjoy it, forget about what wasn’t and enjoy what it is. Take my advice on the cruise, you will enjoy it much more. Happy Sails! 🛳🏝 PS, hopefully you get your refund soon 🤞🏼
