We booked this trip as it was the one year anniversary of the loss of a loved one and this trip provided everything we wanted/needed. This cruise served us a different way to enjoy the Christmas festivities with all of the decorations, activities to participate in as we wanted, and lots of quiet time to rejuvenate after a very long year. Everything about the trip was great and we had a very nice Christmas vacation.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Got there around 1:30 and breezed right onto the ship without any wait
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Absolutely no complaints other than the weight I gained. All food and drinks were excellent and only surpassed possibly by the service.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Our cruise goal was total relaxation so we primarily hung out at the Solarium pool and Schooners reading books and enjoying the warmth. We also occasionally participated in the trivia games which were fun and challenging.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We hit a show every night and all were excellent. Particularly liked the comedians which caused me to laugh so hard my stomach hurt.
Children's Programs
No children in our group.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
They were extremely attentive and took care of any need immediately. They were also very pleasant and we were always greeted with pleasantries from all the cleaning crew as we worked our way to/from our rooms. The wait staff always anticipated our needs and promptly got us drinks without needing to be prompted.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I was impressed with the cleanliness of the ship - given the number of people on the boat and how badly people can treat public space/restrooms, I never saw a single space that wasn't kept up. I am not sure how they did it because I never saw obviously signs of the space being cleaned but it obviously had been.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were at the very front of the ship so we did hear some engine/ship noises as we docked but other than that it was perfect. The room was always clean and had plenty of space for the two of us, our assorted suitcases, and our week's worth of clothes and supplies.
Ship tip
Sign up for luggage transfer service - the cost was minimal ($25 per person) and so worth it to get our boarding passes printed and delivered to the room and our luggage taken to the airport and checked in. It made it so easy to depart the ship and fly home without the hassle of dealing with suitcases.
