Review summary

There were 7 of us with 3 rooms. Grandparents in one, 3 kids in the middle room and parents in the last room. All rooms looked over Central Park and we all enjoyed the location. There is lots to do on the ship and we didn't even get to do half of it. Solarium was nice but lots of chair hogs and hard to find a table. Enjoyed a couple of shows and Boardwalk was the 2 youngest grandchildren's favorite place. Food was good-but not spectacular. The beef tenderloin was fantastic. Other nights it was just ok. Didn't enjoy the Beef Wellington at all, first and last time for that food. My 8 year old granddaughter had the minute steak almost every evening and Bayyer cut it up for her. Food in the Windjammer was ok. Hamburgers and fries in the Windjammer were very good.

Embarkation

Very smooth. There was a line but only took about 15 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was great! We enjoyed the Windjammer when we first got on and a couple of nights. Our table in the dining room was perfect. It was a window table and was in a smaller dining room which helped tremendously with noise.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
My son and Grandson did the wave rider and loved it. I planned one trivia game but it was so crowded I didn't really enjoy it. I usually play most of the games. We loved Central Park and my 8 year old granddaughter rode the merry go round more times than we could count and loved Boardwalk.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Mamma Mia was a great show. We also saw the Aqua show and it was fantastic. It was cancelled 2 times because of rocky seas and when we did get to see it we got there about 10 minutes before the show began and sat in the splash zone. You do get wet but it was fun.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
They liked it but wanted to spend their time with us. They went for a couple of days for a couple of hours only. Not at all in the evening. It's nice they like to spend time with us but wish they would have spent more time in the programs. Teenage granddaughter was with her friends most of the time and loved the ship and the teen programs.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our servers in the main dining room, Bayyer and Neerja, were the best we have ever had in 14 cruises. Cabin steward was ok but didn't believe in going above and beyond. Asked her to put 4 wine glasses in our cabin and we only got 2. Never introduced herself to us when we got on the ship and only knew her name because my son read her name badge.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Great ship with lots of space. This was a Christmas cruise so it was full but we never felt crowded-except when I played trivia. Loved Central Park. It was my husband's favorite place. Also enjoyed Boardwalk and The Promenade.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was a Central Park balcony and we will book it again. We had 2 cabins in a row with the partitions open between them so we could go back and forth without opening the hall door. For those who wonder about this cabin, the bed is by the window. Bed was comfortable and clean. Well appointed and met our needs.

Ship tip

Do It! It is a wonderful ship if you like to do a lot of fun things.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We did the Eco Tour snorkeling and it was the worst snorkeling we have done. Water was cloudy and not much to see. It is a new snorkeling area but we wouldn't return. Because it was Christmas the excursions were limited.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We didn't do an excursion, just walked around Old San Juan. It was overcast and rainy but we still enjoyed our selves and got great deals at the Coach Outlet Store and Tommy Hillfinger stores and also some nice trinkets

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We had a Thrill Water Park Cabana and it was great! When we arrived the concierge, who would be our contact, lead us to our cabana. It included 6 towels, a sofa, chair, coffee table with space to lock up you stuff, and 4 recliners. She provided this tile that we just pushed it and she waited on us. She brought drinks and lunch from the provided menus. Some of us ate off the menu and others went to the buffet. Both were good. The cooler was filled with cold water and that was refreshing. Will definitely plan to do it next time.

Disembarkation

Fastest we have ever had. Didn't even have to fill out any customs paperwork and if you have a passport they did a facial recognization for us to get off the ship.
