Review summary

Went on the Cruise to be on the Allure-wonderful ship —surpassed expectations and to go to Cococay — which was not safe for the passengers nor crew. One out of three ports were acceptable, San Juan was too short and Coco Cay dangerous.

Smooth overall however difficult for husband to walk ramps to ship—wheelchair would have helped.

The cabin was in the front of the ship, somewhat rough the first night and during docking however the size, size and cleanliness was good. Some concerns with cleanliness of couch, placed a towel on before sitting on and carpet was older.

Ship tip

Go to all of the specialty restaurant and do the guacamole class—it was a blast, entertaining and the food and drinks were excellent.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

The winds were 40-60 miles an hour, the ship docked and let passengers off. My husband and I went ashore but knew right away that it was unsafe and headed back to the ship. The transportation back to the ship would not take us back across the gangway, said too dangerous. We attempted to walk to gangway in the winds, another transport passed us and the reverse to pick us up and another older passenger who was huddled against the wind on a bench. After we made it back to the ship, the captain recalled the other passengers. The ship should not have stopped at the port, very unsafe.

Unfortunately, they can't control the weather. We loved coco cay, but if the winds are bad then it wouldn't be safe. We loved san Juan even though we had limited time, still saw the fort and shopped.

Love the Allure. As far as the port, this is where you could have made an adult decision to not get off if you thought that is was so unsafe. Just sayin...
