Review summary

Cruise was fine. Service needs to be stepped up a notch. Carnival has never let me down like Royal did in this cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
They were ready for everyone early. We were told that boarding would start late due to a coast guard review, it did not delay anything.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The steakhouse was great. Sambra Grill not so much. I can get better and more choices of Mexican food at home in Mississippi. The main dining room is ok. Creme brulee is not worth it. Much better on the Carnival cruise line. Windjammer was always crowded. Not enough seating for breakfast or lunch.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Didn't get to see Mamma Mia. The other shows were exhibitions of athletics.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Staff were not friendly. Most were head down rushing from one place to the next. Main dining had only 2 people for your table. This would be fine except they had at least 3 to 4 other tables also.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean. However, it is very large.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean. Did like the shower enclosure. I like having a solid door to keep the water from getting everywhere. Cabin is slightly smaller than on Carnivals ships. You don't notice until you start moving around.

Ship tip

Be ready to get lost. It's a huge ship.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Port is still the same. Limited selection of liquor available for purchase. Vendors are still very pushy.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion. This port area is owned by Royal Caribbean and only approved vendors are allowed. Small area with just beaches, zip line and roller coaster. You cannot swim in the ocean from this port. You have to take an excursion to the private island to swim.

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
Did the Margaritaville excursion. Very fun.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
They have loading and unloading passengers down to a science. Our time was posted and it was when we were called to leave the ship.

We just got back this morning from the Allure. Every staff member we encountered were wonderful. Always smiling and happy. And our waiter and assistant waiter were outstanding. Loved the ship.

Weโ€™ve cruised & enjoyed Allure several times. Labadee is one of our fav lazy beach days and we swim in the ocean every stop๐Ÿ›ณ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž

No excursion needed to enjoy the ocean at Labadee. We were just there in January. Looking forward to Cococay this January.

We have never had a bad experience on Royal Caribbean.

Everyone has their favorite cruise line. We really enjoy RCCL but everybody does and thatโ€™s good.

He is obviously not a fan of Royal Caribbean. Seems like he went on the cruise so he can bad mouth RC. Except for the ports that the cruise lines own, they go to the same ports for the most part. I have cruised on Carnival and Royal and I prefer Royal. I've had good and bad experiences on both cruise lines. The employees have to be happy and courteous all the time and thats hard to do.

We were on the same cruise. Lots of beaches on Labadee to swim without an excursion. We were in the ocean almost all day.
