Over all really enjoyed our cruise. Unfortunately the ports of call dragged the over all score down. Not really a RCL issue just the types of excursions and how they run them now. Would still highly recommend.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was fantastic. We arrived at the port well before our check in time but still went straight on to ship. It was very quick with no hassles.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
All the food was very good. We ate at the main dining room for the majority of our meals at dinner time. We went to the Windjammer twice. No specialty restaurants for dinner on this cruise. We did hit Sabor's for lunch, which was excellent. Food and service. Well worth it. The only detractor was the service at the bars. I have been on a few RCL cruises in the past and have always had great service in this respect before. This time, the service was quite slow over all ( at any given bar ) and not the friendliest. Hopefully just a one time thing.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Activities were plentiful and varied. Something for everyone really. We mostly spent our time doing trivia in the various bars and lounges. It is what we like to do. Saw some Flow Rider demos. They looked great. Rock climbing, zip lines, dance lessons, cooking classes. It was enough to keep from getting bored.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We saw Mama Mia and it was fantastic. Saw a couple of comedy acts, which were very good as well. The headliner was a musical group, who were good but not my cup of tea. Over all very good though.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Mostly all good. Wait staff were friendly and efficient. Service was always there. The only small issue was our room steward. Didn't even see him until half way through our cruise. Received towel animals only every other night at best and he forgot our cruise compass two times. Nothing major but just niggling things.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was looking great.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Room was good. Clean, size was good. Balcony over looked central park. Enjoyed looking out at the park daily.
Ship tip
Dine at the Solarium Bistro for breakfast. No where near as crowded as the Windjammer and the food was good with some healthy options.
Island was fine. Definitely geared to Beach Goers. We took the Traditions tour. Went to small village for a show and tour of their lifestyle. The info provided was very good as was the show. Unfortunately the constant hand out and looking for donations was a big let down.
Did not really enjoy our time in Jamaica. The tour was less than stellar, as it took us to a church, which asked for donations, then to a school, that asked for donations, then finally to a small mountain stop that gave us lunch ( the best part as it was traditional Jamaican food ) but then asked for donations. All of this over and above the expected ( and requested ) tips for both the driver and tour guide. Was fully disgusted by the time we got back.
Always like Cozumel. Been here a few times before. Beautiful Island. Tour was good, as it took us all around the Island and was informative. A few shopping stops, which I could do with less of but over all a nice experience.
