Review summary

Overall, a fun larger family celebration experience. Lots to do. Not sure cruising is my first type of vacation of choice, but if you like cruising, I could see why Allure of the Seas is popular.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Lovelace was terrific (room attendant), personalized and cheerful service. In dining room excellent service. Loved Marshal, Chester, and Viacheslev.

Ship Quality

Overall, great. The only thing I noticed was a sticky underside of hallway railings. I noticed a worker walking with a wet cloth cleaning railings, but it seems as though the top cleaning agent maybe just drips down to underside, collects in some places, sort of dries there, and just remains sticky. I also thought environmentally, the smoking in the casino strongly wafted out into hallway and entry for dining room. Leaving dining room, it was like getting hit by smoker's stench all the time.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
All around loved it.

Ship tip

Lots and lots of people. Like a small city-huge party. Pools heavily used. So many people on beverage plan drink and drink and drink all day long, so that's constantly surrounding you. You can't NOT notice it.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Snorkeling was fun, well run.

Falmouth, Jamaica

Blue Hole and river tubing. Too many people. Long-ish bus ride (90 mins each way) to excursion. Fun factor was so-so.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Minster Jeep tour was our favorite experience all week. Jeep driving was super fun family experience. Well-led. Beach lunch (fresh prepared tacos, chips, guacamole, cold drinks) and 'private' ocean swimming were terrific, great quality, and enjoyable all-around. Ricardo (guide) was terrific.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
A little slow, but not horrible. It would be good if special groups didn't have to parade past you while you're in "regular line." Be more discreet if you have levels for handling people.
