Really disappointed with the Captain’s decision as well as RCC’s greedy decision not to offer any credit for a future cruise :(

Very beautiful and almost totally recovered from the hurricane a couple of years ago.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Sucked because I don’t know how I missed that we would only be at this port until 1pm. We had to be back in ship by 12:30. There was no time to do anything but visit a few shops in the vicinity of the ship. We wanted to go to the beach but no time :(

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Our whole trip was messed up after we left San Juan and sailed 4 hours towards Labadee. The Captain announced there was a medical emergency and we had to return to San Juan, which was the nearest hospital. Ok, we understand that and understood we would arrive later at Labadee than scheduled. But then an hour later, the Captain announced that we would not be going to Labadee bc we would arrive too late. WHAAAT?!! So what will we do to make up for missing the highlight of the whole trip? Nothing! The cruise line decided to do absolutely nothing and keep us on ship another day! Aren’t there things like medical helicopters to help get this poor soul to a hospital sooner?? At the very least, we could have stayed another day in San Juan since we had to return and park the ship—in RCC’s port, mind you. Why couldn’t we have been taken to Coco Cay since we sailed right passed it, AND by the 7th day the ship was barely moving along to stall time. After all that, RCC declined to give anyone a credit towards another future cruise to apologize and try to make it up to us. Every cruiser I spoke to in the ship was extremely disappointed with the captain’s decision and handling of it. Honestly, with many elderly people sailing on the ships, there’s always a chance of this kind of thing happening. So why aren’t they better prepared at making an alternative plan that pleases the cruisers. You can’t just take away a port, especially the highlight port of the cruise.

Typical in this day and age. It’s all about you. Pretty screwed up attitude.

Ima9if it was your family who had the medical emergency. Things happen. When I go on a cruise I never anticipate that we will have perfect weather or make it to each port.

Read your cruise contract. No compensation needs to be given when a port is missed. A passenger needed immediate medical attention and all you care about is money.

Cruise lines do not like to miss port calls. It costs them a great deal of revenue for cancellation of excursions. The Captain and RC will always place safety first.

Why would you expect compensation for a missed port due to a medical emergency? Ports are missed for a variety of reasons - weather, medical issue, political issues, etc. All cruise Contracts that everyone agrees to when they purchase the cruise state that the itinerary and ports not guaranteed and subject to change. If a specific port or ports are important to you, then I would suggest purchasing a comprehensive travel policy that will compensate you for a missed port or itinerary change
