Review summary

This cruise overall was wonderful. As I mentioned, getting on sucked. However, the bad stopped there and did not show itself for the rest of the vacation. There is so much to do and so many cool things and places to see on these cruises that it is hard to have a bad time. The best part about this cruise is the lack of worrying about anything. Everything is taken care of, so all you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy your week away from the struggles and worries of life! Would recommend NOT buying a wifi package. One of the best parts about a cruise is turning off and disconnecting from the world, even if just for a minute.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
This was the worst embarkation I have ever experienced. I have been on 6 other cruises and one of them was an Oasis class ship. There were many things that made it confusing and sub par. Good thing that is only the first couple hours!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was good. How they consistently churn out food for 6,000 is always crazy to me.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There are always so many different activities to do on the ship! I personally love the art auctions, the solarium, the royal promenade, boardwalk, and central park areas.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Very good entertainers in all aspects of the ship.

Children's Programs

No kids on the cruise with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wonderful as always!! Always one of the best parts about a cruise and Royal Caribbean specifically.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Oasis class ship is amazing! They are so huge yet never feel crowded, they have no much to do though you never feel overwhelmed. I am convinced I could be on that ship for a month at least and still find new things to do!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was a typical ship cabin: a little small but big enough to be comfortable. The boardwalk balcony room was a little loud, however it did not bother me as I am usually up early and to bed late. However if the noise is something that bothers you, that is something to consider with this room.

Ship tip

Do not get stuck on eating at one restaurant! They are all so good, and we got to the last day and realized there was so much we had missed out on!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
I love Ft. Lauderdale. It is close to Miami if you are interested, and I think the water taxi in Ft. Lauderdale is one of the coolest things you can do.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
I think St. Maarten is one of the greatest Caribbean islands! It is typical Caribbean island life and you get to experience that, yet it still is clean and feels safe. They are still recovering from hurricane Irma which was unfortunate, but very interesting to see.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
San Juan was cool. There wasn't much to do given we only had 4 hours there, but we got to see a bit. I think San Juan would be better as an embarkation port (I have done a cruise from here before) than as a stop, but it was still pretty good.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Labadee is interesting. I like haggling with the locals though it is not many peoples' cup of tea. Many things here are very expensive and the beach is alright. It is a cool experience, though I do not like how they charge for most things on their own island and furthermore how expensive they are.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Getting off was infinitely easier than getting on! Very sad that I had to go though!

Glad you enjoyed the cruise. What time did you arrive at the pier and begin your onboarding? I have read that early, before 1200, or later, after 2 pm, have smaller lines for cruises leaving around 5 pm.
