Review summary

Phenomenal. I’m hooked and already shopping for our next RC cruise. I literally teared up the last night when they sang the goodbye song at dinner.

Embarkation

We purchased “The Key” and got to board first.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We tried Chops, Giovanni’s and Samba. Chops and Giovanni’s were delicious. I didn’t love Samba- I would give it 3 stars. The food was just ok. The atmosphere in Samba is really pretty though. The food in the Windjammer (buffet) was surprisingly pretty good! Of course there are always things you try that end up being not so good or chewy. The main dining room was also mostly good. The waiters are so nice and do a great job of being enthusiastic about your experience. Again- it is a cruise so sometimes the meat may be a little chewy etc... quality may be slightly less than you would normally get in a typical restaurant. Overall- good food. The coffee is truly horrible (this is coming from a coffee snob though). I brought my own coffee and a French press travel mug. I tried the cruise coffee just out of curiosity- horrible. Be prepared for dinner to take 1.5-2 hours.

Starbucks

4 out of 5

The usual- yummy but SO overpriced. I had a grande iced caramel macchiato for $7!

Johnny Rockets

5 out of 5

One of the best meals we had was lunch at Johnny Rockets. Best chocolate shake and the chili cheese fries? OMG so good!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So many activities there is no way to do them all. We loved Karaoke, the flow rider and the casino.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We loved the aqua theater show- absolutely incredible! The ships live music was awesome. We felt like every single crew member was happy to be working there. Everyone was enthusiastic and cared about making sure you’re happy.

On Air Club

5 out of 5

Karaoke was so fun! The usual mix of people just messing around and then really talented singers.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My twelve year old loved the teen club (although she left one evening because there were kids using foul language there). The activities they schedule for her age group were really fun. She met a friend at an ice skating event on the second night and they spent the entire rest of the cruise together. She loved the flow rider time set aside for her age group also. Awesome scavenger hunt.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room attendant (Omelli) was so nice. He felt like a friend. He took excellent care of us ((#8697). The waiters were all very attentive and kind people.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was practically spotless. I don’t know how they do it. The only dirty area I saw was the ice cream stations by the pool- kids purposely stepping on cones and dropping their ice cream. No fault of RC.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the cabin. Perfect for 3 people. I wouldn’t have wanted to share the space with any more than 3 though. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great. The sheets were so silky and I’ll probably regret not buying them. Since we were in a boardwalk balcony I anticipated some noise in our cabin- I didn’t hear a thing.

Ship tip

If you’re a coffee snob- take your own! Also- please don’t slam your stateroom door! People are trying to sleep. And please don’t cough, hack and sneeze in your hands in the windjammer! Gross! Elevator etiquette: please don’t step on the elevator until everyone is finished getting off. GOODNESS!

Ports of call

Phenomenal snorkeling. We saw a barracuda and a 30llb grouper. Gorgeous reefs.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
We fell in love with Roatan and now we want to move there. Truly magical place. One of the best days we’ve ever had. We were very sad to leave- and we’ve never felt that way about a place.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Out of all of our stops this seemed to be the most impoverished place. In every port we went to the locals ask you to “try this! Buy this! Come here! Best prices!” But in Costa Maya it was off the charts. It gets a little tiring to be asked every few steps to buy things. We have no problem spending money but my goodness they were a little pushy.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy but once we got outside it was a ZOO. Tons of people all waiting for Uber’s and cabs. It really drove the Uber rates up.
