Allure of the Seas

7 Night Western Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip)

Sail date: August 12, 2018

Ship: Allure of the Seas

Cabin type: Balcony

Review summary

Our best cruise ever, B2B Eastern-Western same cabin both weeks, perfect weather, made friends, but maybe spoiled us because 7 nights just goes too fast. Our only disappointment was the seaweed crisis in the Caribbean, and Florida for that matter, some beaches were not swimmable due to mountains of seaweed washing up.

Checked in using the Royal App and that allowed Expedited Boarding, worked perfectly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Had my time dining and asked for the same waiter each night in the MDR, best service we have had on a cruise. This was week 2 of a B2B and had the same waiter for both weeks.

Onboard Activities

Solera

We stopped by this shop and met a sales rep named Alice, she was so much fun to talk to and gave us great advice on some perfume for my wife, the prices were actually lower than the same item on Amazon, I was surprised. We poked our heads into the shop and said hi a few times during the cruise and felt like we made a friend.

Entertainment

Loved the shows, comedy show was hilarious. Mama Mia was well done. Ice show was cute.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were treated so well, maybe it was because we were on a B2B or maybe because we took time to talk to our waiters, stewards and shop personnel, maybe because we told everyone we were there for our 30th Anniversary, or that they saw our C&A pins but whatever it was they treated us like we were their most important customers.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Fantastic location on the ship, easy to walk one deck up to central park, one deck down to Boardwalk and to the spa cafe for morning coffee, also cabin had large balcony and we had breakfast a few times on the balcony. 7194 is between the forward and aft elevators so it was a shorter walk to get to any location on the ship.

Ship tip

Don't put much stock into negative reviews, so many things are subjective and a lot of negativity comes from within. This is a fabulous cruise ship .

Took the ferry to Playa del Carmen for the day, Also when back in Cozumel, had a lobster roll at the lobster shack and a horse and buggy ride from downtown back to the ship.

Snorkling trip from Roatan Eco Tours, was wonderful.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Beaches were covered in seaweed so we just spent a few hours in at the port shops.
