Review summary

Very nice time with the family (party of 6). Service was great and we had smooth sailing.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Went very smooth except one of my son's luggage pieces didn't arrive until we left for dinner. My son and daughter-in-law had checked in 3 pieces together.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good and the specialty restaurant (Chops) was OK. Steaks for three of six folks weren't cooked to their satisfaction.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Most of the shows were good except Ice Show and Blue Planet, which were OK.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Tyrone, our dinner waiter was phenomenal and so was his assistant. Room steward was excellent

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very nice but small shower. Also, I thought it was a little cheesy not to have a pad and pen in the room or body lotion. They also need to install an outlet in the bathroom, so you can use a hair dryer.

Ship tip

The ship is massive and has a lot of activities, perhaps too much for some folks. Great for kids but if you're looking for more peace and quiet, you should probably look for a smaller ship.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

We live in Palm Beach County

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

We've been many times, so we relaxed on th ship.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Didn't tour St. Thomas but we did check out St. John's, which was devastated by last year's hurricanes. The island had magnificent water views.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
Very beautiful and volcanic. Spent the day at the beach.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth.

There are certainly some nice things on smaller ships such as the relaxation, ease if traversing the ship, and more cruise destinations. Our next two cruises are on smaller ships but after that we'll probably be back on Oasis class. The entertainment Zone the Central Park Zone and the Boardwalk are unmatched venues on any other ship class or cruise line and we still got plenty of relaxation in and around the Oasis class Solarium.
