Review summary

Loved this cruise. We would have booked another cruise while on board, but unsure of next years plans at this time. Royal Caribbean is a great product. It is true that they like to sell things, but this is a for profit business, and they are,wry good at it.

Embarkation

Sry fast and seamless. From the time we got out of the Uber to on the ship was less than 30 minutes. It would have been faster, but my wife stopped to look at the lanyards on sale before we got on board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had a free lunch an Giovanni’s with our ticket. I would say it exceeded expectations. Presentation and food quality were very good. The menu in the main dining room has changed since last year. Fewer choices, with several core items that didn’t change. Steak, grilled chicken, and for dessert creme Bruce and cheesecake every evening. However, the choices that changed every day were an improvement in quality and presentation. The Asian Pork taco appetizer and the lamb chops stand out as fantastic.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Mama Mia was good. I was more impressed when I found out they had live musicians. It sounded like a canned soundtrack. Blue Planet was fun. I would like to say that one of the male singers, Leland I belive had a fantastic voice. The comedians were funnier st the Family show than at the adult only venue. I realize that in the adult venue, they will swear. But it doesn’t make them funny.

Service and Staff

Waiters and servers were all good. Great towel animals. I really appreciated that there was no hard sell on the specialty dinners. If I want to go to one, I know how to sign up.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship I is spotless.

Ship tip

There were people that put a towel and a pair of shoes on a deck chair, and would not come back. The rule is 30 minutes, but honestly, people would not come back for 6-8 hours. Don’t do that.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Went to Nellies Beach. Really nice beach with very few rocks on the bottom.

Falmouth, Jamaica

We stayed in “Fake Jamaica”. Shopped and went to Margaritaville. Only heard 2 songs that you would think you would hear at a Jimmy Buffet restaurant. Otherwise loud gangsta rap. Funny how they bleeped the word “ass” and “fat one” from the the Zach Brown song “Toes” because it might not be family friendly. But thought it was ok to have a twirking contest by the pool. That was seriously disgusting.

Cozumel, Mexico

We did an excursion that was not a cruise line one. Our son is type 1 diabetic who does 100 mile bike rides, and 1/2 marathons. Cleared by his Dr to do anything. We were not alluded to go on the snorkeling excursion. Now, RCCl did give us a full refund on a non refundable excursion. That was really nice. We booked a two reef dive from a local vendor that was great. Probably the most fish we had seen on any reef dive.

Disembarkation

We did self debarkation. Had breakfast, and walked off. The only glitch we had was that we had the mobile passport app, and the terminal people roped off the exit to the mobile app agent. We stood in line for 30 minutes, and then they started letting people thru it. We jumped out of our line, that had at least another 30 minutes left, and we were out of the terminal in 5 minutes. UBer is able to come right up to the door and we were gone.
