Review summary

Cruising on the Allure has been my most favorite cruise yet! There is so much to do, see and thoroughly enjoy! I cannot complain about a thing. RCL has one of the best ships sailing in the Allure. My overall opinion is there is something for everyone on this ship, whether young or old. Good for families with all ages of children. Young singles/married just starting to travel and for seniors who think they've seen it all! Cruising is one of the best vacations ever! The Allure is a 5 star cruising ship in my opinion!

Embarkation

Embarkation was a breeze. Needed a new photo of me at security before entering ship. I think possibly first photo taken at registration was fuzzy, but really no issue. Happy to smile again for the security factor 😊👍🏻!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I thoroughly enjoyed all the restaurants and food venues. Giovanni's for dinner our first night and it was very good, authentic Italian fare! MDR was good, had nice selections and great service. We took advantage of the Windjammer buffet mainly for breakfast, but definitely enjoyed the variety of breakfast items available. The Park Cafe, Promenade Cafe and Solarium Bistro were all fantastic food options!

Cafe Promenade

5 out of 5

The Cafe Promenade was our go to spot for a quick cup of coffee, latte, or tea. Nice location to grab a quick sandwich or sweet treats. Really enjoyed the cupcakes, pound cake and cookies!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Activities on the ship we enjoyed the most, the pools, shopping, people watching and walking/running the jogging track. I particularly enjoyed sampling the drink of the day. So much fun no matter where you go on this ship!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All the entertainment we saw was exceptional! Mama Mia was fabulous, Blue Planet was spectacular and a must see if you're on this ship! 🌎 The parades were very fun. Ice Games too was spectacular along with Oceanaria! All the shows were great and in my opinion a must see!Beatlemania was good too as a headliner act, very much enjoyed their music.

Central Park

5 out of 5

Such a relaxing locale, just walking through listening to the birds or live music was enjoyable and soothing. So many places to visit in such a cool park like setting! Loved it!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All personnel we interacted with were very pleasant and ready to assist whatever your needs or questions were. Our room steward, Lamberto was always ready to greet us when leaving or returning to our stateroom. Any requests we had were taken care of quickly and without hesitation. One of RCL's best!👍🏻😊

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything about this ship is top notch, no sighting of repairs or maintenance required anywhere. If there were any, then you saw someone from the ships crew cleaning, wiping or touching up.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin itself was sufficient in size, always well kept. Room steward Lamberto does a great job! The only issue was our cabin being just below Giovanni's restaurant. After 10:30-11:00 pm, they would move chairs and tables and we could definitely hear them. No other complaints.

Ship tip

The first tip would be on the embarkation day is to "not go to the Windjammer". Find an alternative food source location on the ship of which there are many. You do not need to stand in line for good grub on the Allure. Do some research before your cruise regarding all the complimentary eating venues!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We did a "Hop on Hop off" tour that took us to Miami for a nice open air bus tour with many optional routes. Our bus at the port picked up our luggage and stored it for the day while we took the bus tour to South Beach and Ocean Drive. Other tour options were available 👍🏻😊 If you take this tour, wear a hat be sure to hang on to it and use sunscreen!

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Loved hanging out at Nellie's Beach, beautiful scenery of waving palm trees and that beautiful aqua blue water. Enjoyed our lunch provided by RCL, also walked the shopping area where we were approached a couple of times by the locals to shop behind the scene ... 😳 We didn't stay long!

Falmouth, Jamaica

We took an excursion, "Go Native Jamaica" and would recommend this excursion to see a little of the Jamaican history, culture and cuisine!! We visited St. James Parish which was beautiful, then saw a quaint little school where the children sang for us and then off to sample some local fresh fruits, papaya and mangoes. We enjoyed a nice Jamaican lunch and topped it off with a local beer, Red Stripe! We had a very nice tour guide that did a great job sharing her knowledge of Jamaica!

Cozumel, Mexico

Opted for an excursion "Dune Buggy and Snorkel". Fun drive around the island in the dune buggy! Our driving team was from Utah and they were so friendly and fun! Snorkeling ... Not so much fun, one of us was suffering from a sinus infection and we decided to just make it a beach day while others on the excursion were snorkeling. Also took a driving trip to another beach on the Caribbean where you could have lunch and just enjoy the views... So beautiful! 🏄

Disembarkation

There was a delay in our bus arriving to take us to a "Hop on Hop off" tour in Miami. Very disappointed at first, but it all worked out and we had an enjoyable day in Miami before our bus took us back to the airport in Fort Lauderdale.
