Review summary
Our cruise on Allure of the seas 11/5-12/2017 I would like to share som information about the service and stateroom with you. In the American Icon restaurant we was met by a nice and friendly waiter, but very busy. We was only two passengers in my party and had decided to use my time dining. I could see that they had a lot to do, there was not one minute extra for us. We got the food after 30 minutes the starter was Escargot - the temperature was like room temperature - not sizzling hot like they should be. My first thought was to tell and get a new portion, but the waiter was so busy and impossible to draw his attention. (the same thing happened on our second visit) The main dish was aged angus steak, the steak was good but: the baked potato held the room temperature together with the vegetables. The plate was not hot, it used to be preheated before to keep the temperature on the dish. When this dish was served I did not get the chance to ask for sour cream, the waiter just put the dish in front of me and disappeared immediately, when I was half way through the meal he came back and offered sour cream. This is not the kind of service I am used to on Rccl, it has been a couple of years since my last cruise and I can easily see that the prices on the ticked really is reflected on the service delivered. My first cruise was about 17 years ago, and the fare on the ticked has decreased. Now I get an outside cabin with balcony - sea view for the same price as it was for an inside years ago. Furthermore I understand that this has to be reflected on the service delivered - this cruise on Allure of the seas is like a low fare - pay a little and don’t expect anything but the transportation delivered. ( a lot like the low fare Airlines). My cabin looked ok when I first entered, but here too is not to be expected anything extra. The worst thing was the toilet, it was stains in it, and after 5 nights I decided to clean it myself. Enclosed photos. I do not want to say anything to the staff here, this is solely a management problem, it has to be solved from the top. The management here at the Allure of the seas is not present, and good knows what they are doing. This is only a couple of things I experienced and I share them with you, so all of you know that there is a problem. I of corse meet nice and smiley employees in the diamond lounge for instance, they are very sweet and accommodating. The entertainment was outstanding and the performance was brilliant. I was planning a family happening on one of your ships next year for a total of 12 passengers, but I am not sure rccl and cruise vacation is going to be considered after this experience.Embarkation
