Review summary

All of the cruise aspects were fantastic, except it wasn't anyway I booked and paid for with NO OPTIONS GIVEN BUT TO LOOSE YOUR MONEY. Very sad, very poor.

Embarkation

It was bad. We were a group of 8. One in a wheelchair and two using canes because of back issues. No place to sit. There was a line for handicap but no one manning the station. It was at the end of check in lanes and was damn near impossible to work our wheelchair into the able passengers. The male attendant directing the line..... wasn't doing anything. The passengers were simple taking initiative on their own. It was hard to force ourselves into a window with the normal passengers being at an advantage with all other lines open to them.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Fantastic..... except for the breakfast pastries. Dry, tasteless and no sweets offered that most enjoy with their breakfasts. The donuts they had, the icing, I couldn't even describe...... nothing I've ever tasted and not in a good way. The drinks actually had liquor in em.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Zip lining, watched the flow rider, wanted to do rock climbing but twisted my ankle, The aqua show, amazing, the Blue Earth show, comedy show. If you couldn't find something good and fun to do, you were trying not to have fun.

Entertainment

Ship tip

Where to start?? Even walking from one place to another was stunning. Not just walking in hallways, the amazing promenade..... Try and Do it all!!! Even tho that's almost impossible.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We, 6 of us, sail at least 2 times a year. We have done Mexico once and that was enough. Nothing to do there and not a pretty destination. for us. WE BOOKED THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN expressly for St Kits and St Thomas.... made due with Bahamas. Would have at least liked their private island so we could eat comfortably and use our expensive drink package. St Kitts was changed one day after the ability to change our cruise without loosing money. It was due to engine trouble which was a known issue. If we would have known, we would NOT have booked this cruise. Then, because of IRMA, we lost Cozumel and the replacement of Puerto Rico for St Kitts. Definitely NOT was we signed up for. What really added insult to injury, we could have easily switched ships with Royal Caribbean for more acceptable destinations. We would have lost our full cruise payment. UNACCEPTABLE!! I felt hostage on this cruise because it kept changing, once with a known issue on Royal Caribbean's ship. Then, they didn't even offer any compensation for our inconvenience.... no on board credit, no free massage, no free specialty dining experience. They didn't care, they had our money. This is my 3rd cruise with Royal Caribbean and probably my last.

Complain, complain, complain. Good thing wheelchairs don’t float.

Please report your experience with the handicapped check-in lines directly to Royal Caribbean. Thank you for alerting us to that part in your review but this information needs to be registered directly with the cruise line. I respect your disappointment on the change of ports but itinerary changes are the discretion of the cruise line and can happen any time of the year and especially during Hurricane Season. Obviously this year was exceptionally bad and considering how bad it was for the Islanders, anyone on a ship had the opportunity to enjoy the entertainment service food and fun instead of complaining about the weather.

This is why you don’t book during hurricane season your ports can be changed for the safety the passengers this is the risk you take when booking during hurricane season

I’m so confused I thought all ports were open again for Allure

Why did you even book this cruise? you have cried about every port.

Not one sided. Cruise lines would go broke if they catered to everyone's complaints. Quityurcomplainin.

I suppose some people would like the option of cancelling if their original choice of destinations is no longer available. I know it is in the terms and conditions but seems a bit one sided

I can only guess that you are talking about ports being changed because of the hurricanes. Which, btw, the cruiselines changed for your safety.

Is this because of the hurricanes.
