Review summary

Allure of the Seas is a great ship with tons of activities for the whole family. Highly recommend this ship as well as the itinerary which included Haiti, Jamaica and Cozumel.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The only reason for not having an Excellent rating was due to a few computers being down once we got to the counter. Just an inconvenience but overall a very good experience as far as getting through security and on the ship in a reasonable amount of time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was okay. The service we received made up for the sometimes average food in the main dining room. The only specialty restaurant attended was Johnny Rockets and it was excellent, especially for breakfast. Would love to have visited other specialty restaurants but seem a bit pricey. Buffets were hit or miss. Some days had excellent choices and others not so much.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The activities onboard the ship are plentiful and a must. Played soccer and dodgeball, climbed the rock wall, swam in the pools. I would have liked to see more open soccer play but there was more than previous cruises I have been on. The pools were crowded but not as much as other ships as Allure has a number of pools to enjoy.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The water show was amazing. Went several nights to enjoy even though it was the same show. The other entertainment on the ship I attended (Blue Earth, headliner) was not as good as I thought they would be. I did miss Mama Mia which I am sure was spectacular but the others lacked a bit compared to entertainment seen on other Royal cruises.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We have been on other cruises were the service was not friendly nor timely...that was not the case aboard Allure. Every waiter, room steward, ship personnel, etc. were very friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. We did have one particular waiter during the water show that was apparently ill he was there but he was not a true reflection of the rest of the staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was by far the best ship we have been on (Navigator and Independence) in the Royal fleet. Allure was massive but well designed and everything was easily accessible and the overall cleanliness of the ship was spotless.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This room was perfect for me and my daughter with my fiancé and her son next door through a connected door. These are by far the best for adjoining rooms as there is a mini hallway between the two rooms that really adds square footage. I would highly recommend this cabin or cabin 3858.

Ship tip

Be sure to book your entertainment prior to cruising. Although there were nights people were able to attend shows who had not reserved a spot, they had to enter right before the shows started and sit at the back.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Great port. Easy on and off. Did not go on any excursions on this cruise.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
This is one of our favorite spots due to the exclusivity and the beaches. This is our beach excursion port and we love the water activities and the snorkeling. The snorkeling is not as good on the lagoon side but the ocean side is amazing.

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
This is mine and my family's favorite port. The people are extremely friendly and the vibe of the port is relaxing and easy going. We have always done zip-lining in Jamaica and have never been disappointed zipping through the trees.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Great family port with lots to do. We have always gone to Playa Mia and it is a fun relaxing day. There is a mini water park and a bunch of water activities...highly recommend.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Surprisingly smooth, quick and efficient given the number of passengers.
