Review summary

we did notknow  in advance that you needed to have reservations for the show.  No one really seemed to care about the personal experience.  Staff seemed a little too busy or a little too bored

i don't think the made great use of the space.  The shops were disappointing.  I did not go on a cruise to buy a Kate spade bag.

the buffet was the smallest I have ever seen and on the biggest ship.  It also did not have that many selections.  After hours food was limited - pizza or sandwiches

Yes, you needed to reserve shows in advance if you didn't want to wait. It worked out well for us and felt a little bad for those who were waiting for entrance.

You noted that your prior Cruise in 2014 was on a small Carnival ship  that was "too loud". Perhaps you should try a Radiance class up to a Freedom class ship in the off season with Royal Caribbean. You don't have to schedule everything in advance.  These ships are easier to get around on but still have plenty to do. Radiance class is really easy to get around on and very classy with elegant quiet spaces. Freedom class has almost as much to do as Oasis and only has one show that needs advance reservation. But keep in mind on any modern large ship from any Cruise Line you need to get to shows well in advance. Also, hopefully you'll do more planning before you Cruise again :-)

Royal Caribbean web site highly suggests scheduling shows before you board.

Only on the oasis class ships you have to have reservations for the shows and for the food the quality has gone down on all cruise lines I think it is to hold down the prices someone should of told you about making reservations a cruise is what you make of it

Cruises are what you make of them. A little research and adaptation would help.
