Review summary

The food was wonderful. However, it would have nice to have a few changes, day-to-day in the WIndjammer or Solarium for lunch.  Still there are many choices since each one had different food.

Our dining room staff was amazing!  They were so attentive and anticipated our desires once they got to know us.

Our room steward was very attentive.  Not fantastic, per se, but earned an additional tip.

As large as the Allure is, there really never seemed to be large crowds as you might expect.  However, our biggest complaint was the debarkation procedure.  While we understand the need to get 6000 people off the ship to prepare for the next week, the long lines in the terminal to reclaim luggage and to get through Customs was unacceptable.  I think the entire process from gangway to curb was almost two hours of standing.  POOR.  Next time, we will try to avoid large ships. If not, as long as our party is able, we will do the early walk-off with our luggage.

Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and Royal Caribbean will remain our first choice in cruise lines

It was a little too tight around the king bed. I think another 12" would have helped tremendously. The larger balcony was fantastic!!

If you choose for an overnight hotel stay before or after, choose something basic. The close high rises are very expensive and not worth it.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

The beach on the "right" side has much softer sand but there are still kids running around. Not quiet as we hoped. So we relocated to the zipline beach and parked ourselves in front of rock wall to avoid people going in and out of the water. We should have gone further to the end of the beach for more privacy.

Yes, we had an extended stay but I believe that was to compensate for the tours to Dunn's River Falls which took ALL DAY. We were on one of those tours and we had no time for pier shopping. We needed another two hours.

Yes that's what we did and the time from when my husband looked at his watch in the cabin to when we got our car at park-n-fly was less than an hour.

So self debarkation would have made this a 5 star? I'm asking because that is my plan come November. No need to delay leaving if only to be met by lines and waiting
