Review summary

There are 8 adults and 2 kids (2 and under) in my group.  We had a great time up until the last 2 days... Well, one kid got sick, vomited, and had diarrhea starting on the 4th day and the rest of us got it on the 7th day, or the day before departure.  We only ate food on the ship the entire time so we were pretty sure that it's not from anywhere else.  The second kid, my son, threw up all over the place and had diarrhea for 2 days; my sister-in-law threw up 4-5 times the night of the 7th; my husband threw up the morning of the 8th day after the breakfast buffet and became ill for 2 days; my brother threw up and had a fever starting mid day on the 8th after we disemarked; I threw up the morning of the 8th day but was not as bed as the others; the rest of the adults were slightly better with minor diarrhea. We are guessing that it's because they recycle a lot of the food and some went bad towards the end of the cruise.  It's unfortunate that this is the part we remember the most about the cruise.

You can't assume it was the food. You guys probably just got sick. That happens, definitely not the ships fault.

Sounds like your entire family got sick elsewhere Or gave each other a bad flu bug.. Why assume it was the food? Been on allure and Oasis often.. Zero issues with health. Other than ear infection which was my fault. LOL.

Hand washing is the biggest prevention for not spreading viruses from person to person. It seems as if it was a stomach bug that got passed around due to the sequela of events. Children and some adults don't even realize that they inadvertently touch surfaces such as handrails, sink knobs, door knobs, etc.; all of which can carry germs. I'm sorry your trip was spoiled by this unfortunate illness.

Usually viruses or sickness take a week to happen... I wouldn't blame the cruise line though. I bet the child was around other sick kids prior to boarding. If it was food related you would have all been ill at the same time. Food borne illness isn't contagious. Lol

They use the extras that wasn't eaten off of the plates.

If there was a fever that is a virus not the food... Been on the Allure and Oasis many times.. Never had a problem... Little ones are more susceptible to viruses.. It happens... Maybe next time will be better
