Review summary
My husband and I have cruised 16 times, always choosing newer ships (no older than 4 years), and this was by far the most beautiful ship ever. There's soooo much to say about the ship itself that it could take up the entire review, so I'll focus on what I consider to be the most important aspects of Allure. The ship was clean; service was impeccable, especially in the dining room; food was delicious; entertainment/activities were varied and plentiful (a concert by Resurrection, a Journey tribute band was an unexpected and wonderful experience!); boarding and departure, even with more than 6,000 passengers, was efficient and quick. The only "complaint" was that we witnessed a young boy---no older than 12---GAMBLING in the casino, playing poker on Friday night, and then blackjack on Saturday afternoon. I realize that we were in international waters, BUT, a casino is definitely NOT the place for kids. They are exposed to gambling/ drugs/alcohol/sex early enough....this was NOT the place to possibly encourage a future addiction. His mother sat next to him, "teaching" him how to play...SHAME ON HER!!! We felt someone from the cruise staff should have spoken with her and had the boy removed from this environment.
