Review summary
After sailing on Oasis we decided we had to get on her big sister, Allure. She is perfectly beautiful in every way. And just because she is the largest ship afloat, you never feel crowded as the neighborhoods are thoughtfully planned out and there is plenty to do on board, whether you are traveling as a family with kids or adults (like us). The service was exceptional - from our friendly port side check in assistant, to the dining room staff (thanks to our waiter Russell) to our stateroom attendant (Dotlyn) who kept our room spotless, to the friendly bartenders who served all our drinks - just exceptional. We booked a boardwalk cabin this time around instead of our usual ocean view balcony and were very happy we did. We were in stateroom 12727 (starboard) which was at the very aft part of the ship. From there, we could easily see the aqua show, the big screens (for movie nights) and at the end of that corridor is a balcony just above the aqua suites which was just perfect for quiet get aways - looking at the wake of the ship on a sunny day is simply and stunningly relaxing. Dazzles has simply the best entertainment - Muzik Express - we have heard them on Oasis as well - they are simply great - they play all type of music.
Concierge Lounge was crowded at night, but that is to be expected when there are lots of Diamond Plus members (like us) (or suite guests) on board. Our bar staff as well as our two concierges (a special hello to Dexter Frazier from Monarch OTS) were superior. We found the Park Cafe a great place for light lunches as well as the Solarium Bistro - never any lines in there. Coffee in the morning on the boardwalk with a freshly made donut in hand from the donut shop was a simple pleasure and a wonderful way to enjoy the early morning quiet. Ports are ample with plenty to do if you have not been to Freeport or Cozumel. R/C's private island of Labadee is relaxing and very enjoyable with lots to do or just simply sitting on the beach. It's a great stop and for us, the highlight on this particular itinerary (western caribbean).
