Review summary

After sailing on larger ships I was disappointed with our cruise, especially for how long we were sailing. I wish I would have booked on utopia or icon. They have noticeably more space on board, better entertainment, and Central Park! The staff as always were excellent, food was great, and it was still a relaxing getaway. I had never been to Bermuda or Grand Turk so I got to see new places, however I would not care to return there.

Embarkation

Very smooth onboarding process

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food throughout was excellent.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Compared to our symphony of the seas cruise, the shows were definitely lacking. Maybe they put the better performances on the bigger ships?

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our servers Mariá and José were excellent! Mariá was very friendly and had us laughing every dinner.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Staff did a great job keeping everything clean, I think our next cruise we’d have to go on a bigger ship though. Noticeable different than the larger ships while on board.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our housekeeper, Lovelace, did a great job keeping everything clean. The bathroom could’ve been larger however and even at the lowest temperature setting we were still very hot and waking up sweating at night.

Ship tip

Check out the large cruise ships first like the oasis class or the newer icon or utopia.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

We left out of there, not much to do so I wouldn’t call this one of our stops.

Grand Turk Island

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

2 out of 5
Not a fan of where we dock here, not much to do in Royal naval dockyard and it’s an hour+ taxi ride or ferry to get to different areas. Their only beach there also costs money to get in, then more money to rent chairs, floats, etc.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
From past experiences I do love coco cay, but the weather ruined the port this time around. Nothing anybody can do about that though.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth process getting off the ship and to the airport.

From our experience, the newer ships get the best entertainment. While older ships can still have good entertainment, it is clear that Royal puts the best broadway type shows and entertainment on their newest ships.
