Review summary

Our first cruise back on a Royal ship in quite sometime and the Adventure reminded us why so far it is our preferred line. The royal promenade is an area we enjoy so much and the Adventure did not disappoint. Ship was clean as expected and had the classic features Royal is so well known for. The crew on this ship felt and seemed so happy and friendly. We spent a good amount of time at the schooner bar one because the drinks and two because the bartenders here were fantastic. I really enjoyed getting to know them and learn about where they are from. The food in the main dining room was probably the best I’ve had in quite some time. If I had to pick one thing I did not enjoy it would have to be the show can’t stop the rock. To me personally it was probably the worst show I’ve seen on a cruise ship. I’m sure plenty of people feel the opposite, but this one just didn’t do it for me. Just some odd song selections, odd mix of songs together, songs that just didn’t seem to fit the singers. Overall I would absolutely cruise on the Adventure again. You haven’t been give it a try!

Embarkation

Quick and easy. Showed up at our designated check-in time waited maybe 10 minutes and walked right on. Doesn’t get much easier than that!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All the food I had on the adventure of the seas was fantastic. Comparing to the last few cruises I’ve taken with Carnival the food on Adventure was so much better. While Carnival does have more included food options and some good ones the windjammer, Italian restaurant, and main dining room on Adventure are so much better.

Johnny Rockets

4 out of 5

The food is very good. My biggest complaint is when a competitor has something as great as Guys Burgers included it’s a shame it’s $18 on royal. People are obviously paying the extra fee for Johnny rockets so I guess I get why they do it. They did not do the usual dancing we had experienced before, but that’s not a huge deal to me. Staff was great!

Windjammer Marketplace

5 out of 5

Good variety of food everyday. Hot, fresh, and tasty. Very clean!

Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

The food in main dining room was the best I’ve had in quite some time. Not a single meal that wasn’t hot, tasty, and cooked to perfection. A great variety of meals as well. Some repeated meals to appease the picky eaters but a lot of new stuff to try everyday.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was always something going on onboard. We played our fair share of trivia, attended shows, watched comedians

Entertainment

Studio B

Always enjoy the ice shows on Royal Caribbean! Great venue for the quest!

Lyric Theatre

4 out of 5

Great venue to watch shows, comedians, and movies. Can’t say I was the biggest fan of can’t stop the rock.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service and staff on the adventure is hands down the best out of all the cruises I’ve been on. All super friendly and showed up with a smile everyday. I really hope we get to see the bartenders from the schooner bar (John, Cristiano, and Vikas) again. Our waiter and assistant waiter in the main dining room (Lester and Cecilio) were top notch.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
What I enjoy most about Royal is the promenade design it’s a great feature. It makes it very easy to navigate from one end of the ship to the other. Ship was very clean as usual.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good sized room with a great view out of the balcony. The one slight downside is all the balconies are in the hull of the ship. Not a huge deal still a nice clean room with a good amount of space.

Ship tip

Have a great time there is plenty to do or nothing to do at all if you choose. Have a conversation with the crew on board. I enjoy learning about them and where they are from.

Ports of call

Kralendijk, Bonaire

5 out of 5
Bonaire is such a unique port compared to the rest of the Caribbean. Great place to skip the cruise excursions and explore on your own! We rented a car and traveled the entire island on our own. I can see why it’s a divers paradise. We did a little bit of snorkeling on our own and saw some beautiful fish.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
Aruba is a beautiful place and I would definitely like to fly back and stay here longer. The people are nice and the area is safe. Some of the best beaches in the world.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Labadee has some great beach’s and beautiful water. We did the mountain coaster this time and it had some amazing fees of the island! Having said that Labadee is not a stop I would seek out specifically. We choose this sailing because of the other ports.

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Port Canaveral continues to be one of the easiest ports to embark and disembark. Other than that I haven’t spent much time in the area.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Has to be the easiest disembarkation experience so far. Had an 8:00 time to get off carried our luggage off and basically walked straight to the car. No waiting at all.
