We always enjoy cruises, and mostly enjoyed this one, although we may rethink January dates in the future. There was some rain and cooler temperatures that put a bit of a damper on this trip. Royal Caribbean does a great job though, and being Florida residents, we'll be cruising as often as we can!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Terminal line moved quickly, employees friendly and helpful. Always love those first steps onto the ship!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Service and food in Main Dining Room was very good, although we were disappointed that there was no included Lobster dinner night unless for the surcharge. Lunches at Giovanni's Table and Chops Grille were excellent. Sugar Beach ice cream missed the mark for me, Ben & Jerry's tasted much better. Good milkshakes at Johnny Rocket's.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Dance Fitness classes were fun, as was watching the Men's Belly Flop and Women's Cannonball competitions at the pool. Lively 70's and Caribbean parties on the Promenade. Enjoyed watching an evening movie on the pool deck. Bingo seemed disorganized with too much talking between the calling of the letter/numbers.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Enjoyed the shows at the Lyric Theater, as well as the performers at the Caribbean and 70's parties.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Great service from our cabin steward Mohammed, and serve staff in main dining rooms, Giovanni's and Chops.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Everything looked mostly good, except the chairs in the Imperial Lounge. Many looked like they were about to fall apart.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was clean, plenty of storage. Extra points for the glass doors for shower. Getting hot water in sink or shower in the evening was a challenge. Announcements control did not work, so announcements were hit or miss. Did have a problem with toilet one day when it started continuously flushing, had to call for service, it was fixed quickly.
We were extremely disappointed that Hideaway Beach was not open because they wanted Icon of the Seas to be the first paid cruise to use it. Gives the impression that our cruise wasn't 'important' enough.
Thanks for your review. Just FYI. On my 1/5/24 Adventure sailing, lobster was served free of charge on the second formal night. If you wanted a 2nd lobster tail, they would charge $16.99 for the 2nd tail. This was only offered for that one night.
