Review summary

Expect a lot of children and teenagers on a cruise when school is out. We enjoyed the cruise. However, in my opinion, Royal Caribbean should not have sailed at full capacity without full staff. I have been on Adventure of the Seas on a previous cruise. Food in main dining room seemed better? Chops grill dinner was excellent. Giovanni’s table…I have had better Italian food. Actually, the night lobster was served in main dining room, the My Time Dining line (all with reservations) extended all the way through the art gallery. Waiters went through the line offering 40% off in Giovanni’s. You needed patience on this cruise.

Embarkation

Bayonne cruise pier had long lines. Took us over an hour to get to and board the ship. We were assigned a time to be at the pier. That did not help eliminate the congestion. There were signs saying masks were required. This was not enforced.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Ship was at full capacity (3,500+) but understaffed. My Time Dining had its problems. Even with time reservations there were long lines waiting to be seated. Empty tables but didn’t have staff to seat passengers there.

Onboard Activities

Used the fitness center. Couldn’t get near the pool(s). Too crowded.

Entertainment

Ice show was spectacular. Other shows were good.

Cabin attendant (Dwayne) was excellent. Waiter (Ryan) was excellent. Guest services personnel excellent.
