It’s sooooo very nice to be back cruising after Covid, especially when ships aren’t booked at capacity! Prices are more affordable than ever & service is over the top.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Super Easy! We prepaid for express parking, which was literally at the front door of the terminal & was the same price as the off site shuttle parking. I found out after booking that there are discount coupons available if you search online that would have saved us $10. Lines inside were short & would run quicker if everyone would just keep a folder handy with their passports, vaccine cards, and negative test results!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We did not visit any of the specialty restaurants. We only went to the buffet out of necessity on the day we boarded & one other day when we missed dining room lunch hours. Buffet was meh. Service there was very nice. On embarkation day we were bombarded with employees trying to sell us drink & photo packages. The main dining room though, was marvelous! Food and service was spectacular! You could tell that the staff was happy to be back at work.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
My husband & I desperately needed this cruise to decompress. We enjoyed both the main pool, solarium pool, and hot tubs. We played putt putt, although it was very windy that day & really enjoyed it! We did both of the water slides which were a lot more fun than we expected! We participated in the movie music trivia one night in the Schooner bar, which was a lot of fun as well. Most of our time was spent around the pool enjoying cocktails, watching movies on their big screen, or enjoying their tropical bands.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Unfortunately, we missed the ice skating show. It had to be booked on the app in advance. We napped right though our scheduled time & the app would not allow us to reschedule another show. The night entertainment was ok. We didn’t care for the dance show. The comedian & performers were good (not great), so we didn’t feel like we were missing anything if we were tired & ready for bed.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Top notch service from everyone on board! Waiters were always asking if we were ready for another drink when we were poolside. Bar tenders were friendly and started conversations when they weren’t busy. Our room steward always seemed to have our bed made & room cleaned every time we were out. We had a rattling noise coming from what I discovered was our cooler. It kept me awake until I put in ear plugs. My husband slept right through it! When I told our steward on the day before departure (so he could have it fixed before the next guests) he insisted on calling maintenance. It was replaced while we were out! The dining room staff were superior! One night at dinner there was a conversation with our waiter about Indian food and the spices they use. The next thing we knew, our waiter brought out one of his traditional dishes for us to try! Another night, he noticed that I wasn’t eating my lasagna (it wasn’t good, but I wasn’t hungry) and insisted that I order something else. Our server brought us a cheese tray (that we didn’t order) while we waited & there was always a fresh glass of wine when we finished the previous one. Once they discovered on the first night that we liked coffee with our dessert, they automatically brought it out every other night! You could tell they were happy to be back at work!
Ship Quality

Clean (someone was always at work maintaining the ship) and very easy to find your way around.
Cabin / Stateroom

Small but perfect for my husband & I.
Ship tip
Pack a pen - I had to borrow one to write a note to our steward. Pack a couple of power strips. We only had two outlets in our room, so they were needed to charge devices, use a hairdryer & curling iron! Ladies, buy a small, lighted, magnified, suction mirror to attach to bathroom mirror for makeup & contact lens
We did not book an excursion. We took the free shuttle into the city so we could walk over & hang out on the beach. We were BOMBARDED with people trying to sell us anything - beer, massages, souvenirs, anything. Even when we were laying on the beach, people were constantly coming up to us. We did find a nice little beach side restaurant where we ate ceviche & drank cold beer inexpensively. On the shuttle back, a local jumped on the bus & played his guitar & passed his hat around for tips. The people here were desperate for anything you could offer.
Clean port & great shopping right off the ship. We typically take a taxi to Mr Sanchos for the day, but this trip we shopped then ate/drank at Senor Frogs. Next time, we plan to rent scooters to explore the other side of the island.
Easiest ever! It took a total of 15 minutes to get from our room, through customs with their new facial recognition, to retrieve our luggage, and get to the car!
Thanks for the review. I’m crushing this ship 4/6 with a cousin who’s never cruised. This will be my 3rd. I’ve loved the other 2. I’ve seen such negative reviews about Adventure. I wonder why some people are loving it, and others are bashing everything about it:(
