Review summary

First time on RCCL, wanted to compare to others we've traveled with. It was a pretty, tasteful ship...not gawdy like some. Really needs to improve the food though for adult passengers to keep coming back.

No greeting upon arrival on board ???

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Service was great, but food was just adequate. Didn't have a decent fish the whole time. The buffet had mystery fish every one knew what kind it was. Bakery goods were very good.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment was very good. Especially enjoyed the Schooner bar's piano man and the main showroom tenor.

Ditto above comments.

Service and Staff

Waiter Imaran and asst. Harshal would both excellent. our room steward Erehwon Fernandez did a very good job, but we normally have an ice bucket and waters and robes when we cruise, so that's on RCCL.

Ship Quality

But I don't like that there are no dining spots near the pool or anyplace to sit outside to dine as on other lines. Too much space used-up for kids activities.

Cabin / Stateroom

All good. would prefer lounge chairs on balcony.

Ship tip

Check out the adults solarium area.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

no, just rented a car.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Yes. Grand Cayman Snorkel. You get what you pay for...boat took us about 2 feet from shore in 2 spots. never left sight of our cruise ship. snorkelled in the harbor, which I don't appreciate. Grand Cayman probably has beautiful reefs...we have no proof of that.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Liked the original fishing village and strolled the promenade there. the cruise line created "Disney village" was very well done for what it was.

Cozumel, Mexico

I like Cozumel, but the excursion we took was ridiculous. It was called "3 Reef Snorkel by Boat". We stupidly got on this rickety "pirate" ship. It was not designed to be snorkeled from and was barely seaworthy. They actuallly instructed us to wear our fins on the deck and walk to the side exit and jump walking the plank. The boat had no keel, just rolled around. The crew did it's best to corral us, but it's a miracle there was not an accident. Should not be a cruise line sponsored excursion in the future.
