Review summary

When we booked the cruise I had advised that we were celebrating our kids graduations and thought it was supposed to be acknowledged on board according to our cruise agent. However, nothing was ever done. Other celebrations happened for many people around us. Quite disappointing

Missing the ship, we boarded in San Juan. First we were told the wrong pier from Royal Caribbean by 2 different agents that we talked with on the phone. Learned from a local the correct pier. Also, the way we were treated was not very friendly. For passengers that miss the ship, this could be handled much nicer. We had already missed 3 days at sea.

Our cabin steward and waiters were wonderful. Ship personnel at the guest service counter were not friendly. Especially the way they handled us with checking in at San Juan

Again, with not embarking in FLL, we were then advised we would need to be the first off the ship at 6am. We felt that we were being punished for missing the ship due to winter weather. We also paid for breakfast that morning along with the rest of the ship but had to get off before getting that.

When my husband was alive we celebrated our anniversary every year but I made the arrangements myself. You can shop under Celebrations & you can purchase different special occasion packages yourself. You can have your room & cabin door decorated, order a cake, chocolate covered strawberries, roses, a photo package, etc. but you have to pay for it. Your travel agent should have told you that or paid for it for you like mine did on one occasion. If it's your birthday your TA can notify the cruise ship of the night you want to celebrate it & they'll give you a piece of cake & sing Happy Birthday to you during your evening meal in the main dining room. I always make sure the main dining room knows about it on the first day we board.

Royal Caribbean has been going down hill for a long time. When we first started cruising with Royal Caribbean it was much nicer and more enjoyable. It seems each cruise gets worse.
