Review summary

This was our third Royal Caribbean cruise in five years. I highly recommend booking a suite if your finances permit beause it just takes your vacation up a notch. Each cruise was individual in it's own way but I do recommend checking the daily Compass and downloading the Royal Caribben APP which lets you have the compass at your fingertips and allows you to set reminders that pop up on your phone so you don't accidentally miss an activity you really wanted to participate in.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
They have streamlined the embarkation procedure at Cape Liberty down to a science. It could no be any easier or smoother

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Since this was an 8 day trip, we decided to try som eof the specialty restaurants. We were very happy with Chops Grill, Giovanni's Table, Izumi and the main dining room. The food was wonderful and the service couldn't have been better.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Sushi making class at Izumi was so much fun! Just be aware that you cannot take the sushi you make with you - it has to be eaten there - and you make A LOT of sushi!!! I highly recommend this activity!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We attended almost every show this trip had to offer and were not disappointed. The Four Seasons tribute group was awesome, the ice show was great, and the comedian, although his material was only for adults, was very funny.

Children's Programs

We had no children with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I can not say enough about the service on this ship. Our room steward was very warm and friendly and took very good care of us. Our waiters in the main dining room remembered our names and beverage orders after just one dinner and actually came out of the dining room to take us off the line and bring us to our table every evening we ate in the dining room. Even the staff people at the Starbucks counter remembered us from day to day and were always smiling and friendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything on the ship was clean and well maintained. There are maintenance people keeping things tidy all day long, but in such a way that they are never in your way as you move about the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was very roomy and comfortable. The air conditioner actually worked too well and we were a little chilly, but that is better than the alternative - you can always put on a sweater or another blanket.

Ship tip

Bring a sweater, I'm not usually chilly, but I needed a sweater or wrap pretty much everywhere on this boat. Better to be chilly than too warm, but best to be prepared with a sweater.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Embarkation port - very clean and easy to get in and out of. People working there are courteous and helpful

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Bermuda is beautiful. We did not book an excursion because Bermuda is very safe and easy to get around in. If just going to Horseshoe Bay for the day, I recommend taking a taxi or van to the beach. $7 per person, each way, and it couldn't be any easier

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We took the excursion to Blue Lagoon. The day was nice, although just at the dock it gets very crowded. The lunch provided was surprisingly delicious, not what we expected since they are just a small island for day trippers.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Royal Caribbean has done a wonderful job here - there is something for EVERYONE - if you want action - there is a water park. If you want a peaceful day at the beach you can go to South Beach and rent a bungalow or beach bed - just make sure you do that very early as there is a limited supply and they sell out quickly. We rented a bungalow and didn't realize that you have to choose your specific bungalow after you board the ship so if you want a frontline bungalow, make sure you get to the excursion desk as soon as possible to choose your bungalow. We ended up in the second row, but they are staggered so while you don't have an unobstructed view of the entire ocean, you can still see it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We had a suite, so I don't know how disembarking in general is, but as a suite perk, disembarking as a group was easy and organized.
