We enjoyed our cruise very much. Excellent job to the kitchen and dining staff! They are amazing!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived prior to our appointment time. There was no line and the people were very pleasant checking us in. Port Everglades terminal is very "basic" - its almost like a warehouse. Carnival's Miami Port is air conditioned and has bathrooms and vending machines. Much more comfortable for waiting.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room was EXCELLENT. The wait staff was very attentive. The management in the main dining room played an active role. They talked to all the guests every meal and made them feel special. We had early dining and never felt rushed as I have seen other reviewers mention in their posts. The Windjammer food was definitely a step above buffet food. It just gets really crowded and hard to find a seat. Definitely eat your meals in the dining room. Chops Grill filet mignon and tater tots with Gruyere cheese were amazing! We also did the Bottomless Brunch with a tour of the kitchen. Very interesting and again, the food was amazing and the champagne was free flowing. Cheers to Amit, Mosvin, Maybel. They were our amazing Maining Dining team.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There were a wide variety of activities. The pools were busy as to be expected. There was a rock climbing wall, flow rider, table tennis, two level mini golf, and shuffle board to name a few.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The comedians were top notch! The ventriloquist was a former AGT performer. The Love and Marriage game was hilarious. The other shows were not to our taste. The singer's hit song was from 1972...

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
I can't say enough about the Main Dining staff. They were amazing - Amit, Mosvin, Maybel. They made the entire cruise for us. The casino bartender was very personable and a few cabin stewards on deck 7 were very nice. For the most part however we found the rest of the Royal staff more aloof. We have been on a few Carnival jobs where the staff are very friendly and are eager to please. I didn't even want to go in the perfume store for the look on the woman's face. But everyone on the wait staff was wonderful! There was one time when I found tiramisu - I had been looking for it all week and my fiance had found it on the buffet but there was only a few left. I was so excited! One of the wait staff overheard my excitement and went up to the buffet to get me another one. That is how committed the wait staff is to making your experience amazing!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was very easy to get around. The interactive boards by the elevators help you to find where you want to go and what is going on at all times. As well as the Royal Caribbean app. The common areas were well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was a very good size. The balcony offered good privacy. We were very disappointed it didn't have a table and the bed was SO hard that we couldn't sleep the first night. The cabin steward did his best the second night to make it softer
We did the Sawgrass Mills Shopping Tour on the return back to the airport. It took an hour and half sitting on the bus waiting going from pier to pier picking up other people before we were on our way. We missed the entire first part of the tour and skipped right to the shopping part. There were a lot of unhappy people :-(. We had three hours of shopping time. It was just a way to spend some time as we had a late flight out of Ft Lauderdale.
This was a nice port to relax and swim. The Labadoozee was awesome (or as our bartender calledit the Labadoodoo)! Get to the buffet early or the line gets long. We stayed away from the Market as they vendors were very pushy. But it was easy to do as the vendors on top of a hill - so as long as you don't go up the hill they won't bother you.
This was our second time in San Juan. We did not do an excursion. We left the port and walked to the left towards the fort. Many people had said it was a 20 minute walk but it took us a lot longer! We walked along the water the entire way and then up several flight of stairs to get to the fort. We must have gone the long way! It was very pretty. There was lots of cats along the path. There were lots of cat feeders with water and good.
Here we did the Flavors of St Maarten tour. The ride was a tight squeeze in a air conditioned van. We rode to the Dutch side. We made three stops for three different bites to eat and made one drink. I was surprised that all stops were Jamaican owned. It won't fill you up. We did go by Maho beach and the driver slowed down so we could see the plane coming at us. Tour guide was informative.
Here we did the Chocolate Factory Tour. The chocolate was very good but you don't actually tour a "factory". It is a chocolate store attached to a jewelry store... The owner is very personable. You are given a PowerPoint presentation on the cocoa and then you go into another room to "make" your chocolate. Where you pour chocolate and candies into your pre-made truffle. They store it for you while you spend the rest of the day in St Kitts.
