Review summary
This was our first cruise on the Adventure after two on the Oasis. We knew it would be smaller scale and not the same level of entertainment. The ship was clean, room was better than what I had expected (we went from balconies to an ocean view with bunks and it was more than enough space), staff was great, slide was cool, but entertainment and kids adventure club was disappointing for my 9 and 11 yo kids. For the kids club - on the Oasis our kids never wanted to come out - here they barely wanted to go. It is so small scale and the kids just didn't seem to have as much fun. Oh and the manual sign in and out is a JOKE! Seriously upgrade their system to use our seapass card!! It took forever each time to sign them in to add the 4 people that could check them in and out. Entertainment - there were plenty of small things to do around the ship during the day but we tried a music show at the lyric theatre and walked out. It was terrible. Again spoiled with everything the oasis had to offer but come on - even my kids asked to leave and just to go to the Schooner bar to watch Keith who was the highlight of our trip! Lounge chairs - days at sea seats are HORRIBLE to try and get a seat in the Solarium. If there is an area in the ship people save seats or leave and aren't considerate of anyone else that would like to enjoy the seats - that is the place. Food - selection is much smaller and sweet jeezus the Windjammer was always INSANE and packed! It felt like you were stalking people waiting to get up to snag their tables. That was our go to place to eat but here we opted to eat almost every meal in the main dining room which was quiet and the wait staff is always wonderful. Our dinner waiter Hendra and Assistant Waiter Mohammad were SUPER!!!! All in all it is a nice ship and the staff is wonderful! As long as you come on knowing that RC puts most of its $$ for entertainment into the larger scale ships you'll be fine.Embarkation
