Review summary

Embarkation was confusing but orderly. The staff, our junior suite, the food, and entertainment were fabulous. We traveled with 4 other families that had children. We used My Time Dining but had a reservation for 6pm for each night, so we could all sit together. The dining staff was fabulous. We had Ronaldo and Mukesh as waiter and assistant. We could not have asked for a more attentive wait staff. We took the RC excursion at the Grand Cayman to Sting Ray City with snorkel trip. It was organized but we did have to wait for a bus to pick us up at the end. We loved the experience. We paid for pictures using a credit card. I recommend always using a credit card to pay for such things. It took some time to have the pictures emailed. If they did not come within a certain period of time, I would have disputed the transaction. It all worked out though. Costa Maya was a disappointment. We did not have an excursion planned and perhaps that was the reason it was a disappointment. We stayed in the port area and after 45 minutes went back to the ship was fine as well. We had a relaxing day. Cozumel was the last port. We did the RC excursion to Playa Mia Beach Resort. We did not get the package the included lunch and we were glad we didn't. The food on the menu was probably better and didn't cost very much. Snorkel gear cost $15 for rent. Bring a towel or you will have to rent one there. They have showers for clean up after a day on the beach. There were blow up slides anchored in deeper water for the kids. Everyone had access to life jackets. Overall, very nice. We wouldn't mind returning to Cozumel. We had a fabulous time on the ship and with our friends. Disembark was a little confusing. There was little direction to the airport shuttle line and a ton of people trying to go in different directions. We pre-paid for a shuttle to the airport as advertised in the Compass the night before. Unfortunately, a bus did not arrive for a good 30 minutes to bring us to the airport. There was at least 3 bus loads of people that were in line. We were fortunate enough to get on the first bus. Next time, we will just take a taxi to the airport. There was a line of taxis ready and available to take you where you would like to go. Overall, I am amazed at the limited chaos that occurred with thousands of people moving on and off the boat, as well as tending and feeding the crowds. We booked another cruise for next year prior to leaving the boat.
