We chose the cruise for the ports of call and length of the cruise. We decided to try Royal Caribbean. We were disappointed in the ship design as the focus seems inward toward the promenade. We prefer a design in which the focus is outward toward the sea giving many public where you can watch the ocean. We were also disappointed that there was not more music during the daytime. Activities of games and pencil and paper quizzes do not appeal to us. We prefer lectures and learning something. The sports activities are more for younger, more physically fit people. Ports were fun, especially Quebec City and Bar Harbor. The cruise familiarized us with some Canadian provinces that we knew little about and that was an objective that was realized. It turned into a very relaxing cruise for us and was enjoyable. We think that we will stick with Princess and NCL however in the future unless a fabulous deal and itinerary appeal.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Ate in the main dining room and Windjammer. Food was excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Weather prohibited use of some of the activities. Was not interested in many of the quizzes, pencil and paper activities, games. It turned out to be a relaxing cruise with time for reading and evening entertainment.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Evening Lyric Theater presentations were great. Enjoyed Giovani at the piano bar most nights. He was engaging with the crowd each night. Ice show was novel and enjoyable, not found on other ships.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service was mostly good. Some orders particularly at breakfast were mixed up or not served. More than half of the time no rolls or sweet buns were brought around at breakfast.
Ship Quality

Do not like the inward focus of the Promenade. I am on a ship and want to see the ocean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
I liked the option of sitting on a small sofa, which was comfortable. I like the darkness of the interior cabin for sleeping. 3017 was tucked away from noise and traffic, but very close to the Lyric Theater for a quick stop before or after a show. Loved the location.
Ship tip
Deck 14 (Blue Moon) provides and excellent relaxing place to read and watch the waves.
Went to a small 4 room free museum of the Prince Edward Battalion Regiment showing WWI memorabilia. Enjoyed that learning of a soldier who smuggled a camera with him recording life in the military in Europe during WWI.
Beautiful harbor boardwalk. We spent our time in the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. It was great with a couple of nice short films, information on and items from the Titanic. Would have liked more time here to see the longer films available and included in the admission.
We had a 6 hour excursion planned, but it was cancelled due to a late arrival because of a medical emergency causing us to return to Halifax. Disappointed to not see the Bay of Fundy and other things on the tour of 10 things. Instead we toured the Museum of New Brunswick which was good and saved the day.
This was our favorite port. We had the 6 hour Best of Acadia tour including a fabulous lobster meal. Sunny morning made the drive on the loop fantastic. A rainy cloudy afternoon made visibility at Cadillac Mountain poor. Tour guide was a retired ranger who was fantastic. Beautiful park and the harbor was picturesque.
Hard to find something to do here. Tried to take a tour on an old fire engine (brochure at the visitor center). Walked a long way to the tour site only to discover that they had gone out of business. Did enjoy a donut at the Donut Hole made with potato flour.
Taxi was quickly available. Went to the Constitution Museum which was fabulous with many interactive exhibits that children and adults would find interesting. Boarded the Constitution and the Cassin Young (Fletcher class destroyer). We had seen both ships before and wanted to revisit them. The museum was new to us.
We have been to Disney and the space center as well as Cocoa Beach and Ron John's Surf Shop. Mostly parking lots are near the terminal, so leaving the ship did not interest us. We spent the day on board reading and relaxing.
We left the ship via taxi. We attended church and spent the afternoon with a relative on the inland waterway with a boat tour. We stayed two extra nights at the Doubletree Gallery One Suite Hotel which was excellent. It was on the inland waterway near shops, the beach, and a Publix grocery.
