I have been reading and following reviews about Adventure of the Seas and the ports for almost a year. My conclusion is your experience is what YOU make of if. We were a group of 23 and maybe there were a few "glitches" but no worries, it's a vacation. We are an optimistic fun group so we had a non-stop good time. I must say that the staff 100% is the best I have ever encountered. Not once did I walk by any staff member and they didn't say hello, or ask how our day is going. They totally made the experience! I want to book on Adventure again!

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Windjammer crowded at peak times, food great and there was always a variety. We always sat outside so never had a problem with seating. We had breakfast and lunch everyday and dinner only once. The last day at sea was a dessert feast!!! It was unbelievable, and very filling.
Main Dining room food was delicious. My group had a nice variety of entrees and no complaints about any meal. Selection of appetizers was difficult so many times we got 2. The desserts were so good. I loved the royal cheesecake and we loved the cookie with ice cream. Oh, and the carrot cake was the best I ever had. I must mention our head waiter, Saheb-5 stars! He was wonderful, always taking care of us. Our assistant waiter, Nickisha was also on top of her game-no waiting for drinks and she had our dished cleared in no time.
Sky Bar
5 out of 5
We loved the sky bar. Perfect outdoor atmosphere to drink and watch the sunset or just end your evening(or in my kids case, start your night). My whole family (23) would gather here, some drinking, some not. The bartenders Kevin and Wilbert were wonderful, fun and friendly. They knew us by name and most of our favorite drinks too.
Johnny Rockets
5 out of 5
Loved Johnny Rockets. Atmosphere was superb, food really good( you pay extra for it). Milkshake really good. The waiters danced and sang to a song, very entertaining.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We enjoyed the pools and hot tubs but they did get crowded(to be expected). We settled down in our chairs early and watched the "deck chair wars", sad but entertaining. Chair hogs are the worse. We loved the water slides, be prepared, they are very fast!!! My kids worked out in the gym every day and said it was top-notch. Never had time for ice skating or mini-golf. Our group entered the volleyball competition and my boys did dodgeball and won "royal medals"
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to the Duck and Dog at least 5 nights. Carlo the guitar player/singer is a "must see". We loved him and we sang and danced the nights away. He let us request songs. He was a 5 star fun guy!!
The 70's and 80's nights were the best time!! They should be longer, we loved the music!!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Once again, I cannot say enough about our waitstaff-Saheb and Nickisha. They were wonderful. Our room steward did all he could to make our trip unforgettable by letting us forget about our room!! His name was Isreal and he was always happy greeting us at any time of the day or evening. Our room was always maintained. I even had a broken door on one of the cabinets which I said nothing about. Next thing I knew, it was being fixed because HE saw it and took care of it.
Honorable mention goes to our Sky Bar bartenders, Kevin and Wilbert! They were exceptional! By the time we left NY they knew our names and our drinks, needless to say we spent every night with them! They were fun and friendly and I rate them as the best bartenders on the ship! 5 stars!!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship is large! Use the maps and you have no problems! I always saw staff cleaning and wiping things down. The ladies room attendant, Joy, by the windjammer seemed to work day and night nonstop. I say the ship was very clean and maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very clean. Size, it's an interior so we weren't expecting large, and we weren't in it often at all. Perfect for two people.
Ship tip
Do things early, or later. Peak times for everything, understand you will be with a crowd
The highlight of our cruise! I cannot say enough about the beauty of this island and the blues of the water. Walk a bit to get away from most of the crowd to South Beach. We just hung out in the water by the floating bar. It was a perfect day. The food was BBQ type which fit right in with the theme. Overall, I thought it was one big happy beach party.
We did our excursion through RC. A hint, if you are thinking about this BOOK EARLY! I paid 119 in January and on the cruise they were charging 212. It adds up!! we got there before it opened and my kids were able to do the leap of faith before the lines got crazy. It was busy(August) but we got to do every slide that was open once and a few twice. We did the Rapids (my favorite). It was crowded but lines weren't too long. I think the longest wait was for food. We were also able to go to the Dig. Bus transportation back and forth easy, no worries. We then walked the shopping district and straw market. I really don't know what people complain about them being pushy, they are doing their job. Smile, and politely say no. It works.
My husband did the Bahama Brew tour. It's a walking bar hopping, beer tasting and food sampling tour. He LOVED it.
Great review! Just got off AOS on Friday and also had wonderful time, as always. Like you said and I've said in the past, your vacation is what YOU make it. Counting the days till next year!
Great to hear as I will be on her soon. We are always overwhelmed by the friendliness of the crew, now if nay we can get the cruisers to be so kind and courteous...✌️
