Review summary

Overall this was a great cruise! I enjoyed most of the ports and the on board activities. Only real issues I had was with crying babies and parents that wouldn’t remove said children from the public areas, but I guess that’s an issue wherever you go. Didn’t care for Jeff Tracta’s act either. Not very funny and the act went too far to the right for my taste. I felt it really divided the ship after that act.

Food and Dining

Certain menu items have disappeared from previous menus. I did not notice the smoked duck or the scallops appetizer. Also, the chilled strawberry bisque was missing from the MDR (although it was later found in the Windjammer). Dinner was okay, but service lacked. Server was impersonal, whereas the assistants were lively and very helpful.

Onboard Activities

The men’s locker room could have used some kind of water or refreshments as I’ve seen on other cruises. I’d relax in the sauna every night before dinner and felt that area was lacking.

Our room server, Camila, was awesome! Loved how friendly she was and how she reacted to a minor situation we had with our drink package. Our cups never showed up because the ship ran out by the time they got to certain guests. Apprarently no one on deck 3 received a cup. Camila followed up every day and finally delivered the cups on the last day at sea. She has great energy and a contagious smile! Of course, every bartender was great and he entertainment staff rocked it.

I guess these rooms were recently renovated? They looked great! Still had that new smell too!

Ship tip

Our photo experience was terrible. We waited in line nearly an hour just to find out the printer was down and that no photos were being printed that night. Every attendant could not tell us which line to get into for our deck. I think we switched three times. We were told that pictures would either be delivered overnight, or we’d have to come back at 7am before disembarkation. Earlier that day, after paying for out photos, we were told to come back later that evening to pick them up. Hopefully they’ve sorted that problem out.

We did a kayak adventure. The distance we had to kayak, nearly a mile against the waves and in windy conditions, wasn’t difficult. The issue was with the beaches. Covered in rocks, dead coral, and even trash. Snorkeling was part of the excursion, but we couldn’t do that either because visibility in the water was minimal. We were the first group to go out. The remaining tours were cancelled after that due to poor weather conditions.
