Review summary

Don't let last years hurricains stop you from this cruise. We had a wonderful time and loved the islands.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Lines moved quickly. Luggage didn't get to our room until almost 9 PM and we were starting to worry but all was well and it all arrived.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was great. The Windjammer Café left a little to be desired. I know it is buffet and there was a variety of food but the hot foods were room temperature. Most of the deserts were tasteless and pastries hard.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Big ship so pool areas were crowded. Not much you can do about that.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Music is much too loud. Had to leave the musical as the decibel level was so high as to hurt my ears. Even my husband who is a little hard of hearing was complaining. Comedians were very funny and the ice skating show was exciting. The cruise director was excellent.

Children's Programs

not traveling with children

Service and Staff

All of the service staff was attentive and helpful.

Cabin / Stateroom

Loved having the balcony. We were at sea for 2 days so it was nice to sit on the balcony and just enjoy the ocean. We would bring up bowls of chips from the buffet, get a couple drinks and sit out on the balcony.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

went directly from Avis to port and did not sightsee.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Did the excursion but was not interested in diamonds or watches so we spent the shopping time visiting a little museum. The woman there was very friendly. She explained the history of the island and described the artifacts. If your not a shopper go to the museum. Tour took us up the mountain where the views are spectacular. We chose to go back to the ship as opposed to the beach as it was very windy with rain showers.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Our excursion leader did a great job of pointing out and explaining history and the story behind the many monuments. You could see the damage done by the hurricains but it does not distract from the fact that it is a truly beautiful place.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Only took the bus from the ship to the airport but all the damage from the hurricain is visable everywhere. Will plan a trip back in a couple years as I would like to see the island.

Disembarkation

We signed up for the express transfer which took our luggage from the port to the airport. Bring your reciept even though Guest Services tell you that you will not need it. The line was slowed by the attendant looking for names that were not on list.
