Review summary

I enjoyed the trip but will not be visiting the Adventure of the Seas cruise ship. I am loyal to Royal Caribbean but I must stay on the high side of my cruises (Allure and now comes Oasis).

Ship Quality

The common areas were cleaned and maintained but wasn't happy with the ship and the size.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Was very small, smelly and the shower overflowed and the maintenance was called and it was repaired within 24 hours. But the experience in the cabin was not quite what I expected.

Ship tip

It is family friendly ship and kids will get a lot out of it.

The tour was great and seeing the effects of the hurricane that the island endured was very sad. You had a real sense of what they went through just being there in person.

I, too, like the mega ships the best.  There is just so much more available to do on them.  But, really I am happy on any size ship or boat that I am sailing. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.  My next cruise is on a mid-sized ship.  I have been on her twice before and her sister ship so less newness to look forward to but then again, I already know my way around the ship and feel comfortable on her.

Different ship sizes for different folks. Adventure of the Sea's is the largest ship I have been on to to date (I enjoyed 2 weeks on her). When I started cruising ships were only about 38K tons to 45K. New ships like Allure of the Sea's are 220K tons. I can remember Monarch of the Sea's with cabins at 115 sq ft and we managed to have a lot of fun cruising on her. I guess when you start with the latest and greatest ship anything else is just a down grade. Smaller ships do have advantages of getting into ports where the jumbo ships can not port, so it is give and take like most things in life. Thanks for a fair review and not letting the small stuff taint all of your experiences on the ship.

We sailed on the Adventure in October.  We loved the ship.  We had never sailed RCCL before, so everything was new to us.  Thanks for the review--I enjoy an honest opinion, and your review seems balanced and fair.

We loved Adventure of the Seas. Prefer the smaller ships. Just seem better and not so over crowded.

Sorry that you did not find the Adventure as pleasurable as you had hoped. Some like the big ships, others like the small ships, and others like the ones in-between. Glad you are able to find what you like, and didn't let the shortcomings detract too much from your vacation.

Great Trip but I like the bigger cruise ships better. Loyal to Royal Caribbean love this cruise line.
