Overall good value on the cruise over 4th weekend. I love the entertainment staff and shows. Food options was limited. Older and dated ship but with value I didn't mind. We purchased the drink package and glad we did, wish it came as a package instead of buying it a la carte.

Drinks were great would recommend the drink package because it comes with bottle waters, juices, sodas, etc. I would recommend the specialty dining at chops. Giovanni's wasn't great. Main dining room was good. I like the DIY salads for lunch. Buffet was sub par-very generic food caters to kids pizza, burger, hot dogs

Everything was mainly on a few floors, easy to navigate. All the service people were great at picking up leftover plates and cups laying around, bathroom was always stocked.

The room is super old. Had a weird smell. The attendant was good and did the best that she could. Air was on coldest but couldn't feel it. Bed and couch was rock hard.
Ship tip
Great value overall with friendly staff and great ports. I would say good options are very limited. Most of the time it's buffets, the main dining room is only open at sea days and 2 specialty restaurants (chops only one that's decent). I say if you're more interested with ports then you will have a good time.
Loved old town SJ. After the cruise there are people outside offering local tours, $25 I would recommend, a air condition tour bus with 1.5 hour on your own walking thru town and they drop you off at your hotel or airport.
I think that the option to add the drink package to your full cruise price is a great idea. Therefore cruisers are not reluctant to purchase and feel more secure in their cruise expenses.

but I did not want to assume - thus I asked. Besides, sometimes folks come up with great ideas others of us may not think of. Maybe drink package and a specialty dinner, drinks and laundry, drinks and a free cruise bear??? Just saying - never know.
