Review summary

I love cruising and have done several cruises before this one.  I thought this ship was a little smaller than our last one.  The kid play area was not as large and did not accommodate children age 4-6.  My daughter is 5 and very petite.  She was not big enough to go down the kid slide but when she tried to go down the smaller slide they told her no because she was not wearing a diaper.  I tried to explain to them that I was not putting my 5 year old in a diaper just so she could go down the slide.  I complained to customer service but they were not helpful and pretty much my daughter had to swim in the deep pool with my husband.  Had I known the kids area was small we would have chosen a different ship.  The large water slides were very slow and not open very much during our cruise. We had reservations at the new Chops restaurant during this cruise and was a little disappointed.  We had been to Chops on Independence of the Seas and had a AMAZING dinner.  The Chops on this ships was not as good.  Our steaks were over cooked and the service was just subpar.  I was disappointed considering how much we paid.  Even with these two blips in our vacation we had an amazing time.  Our waiter for regular dinner service was phenomenal!! Also our cabin steward Dennis was very attentive and got along great with the kids.  The drinks were more expensive this cruise than our last.  A mojito was 15.00!!  A little steep in my opinion. Our daughter loved the daycare.  She would ask when it was time to go back.  Our 12 year old enjoyed the freedom of walking the ship on his own. We had a great time but I would probably choose a different ship next time if you have small children.

Dinner service was great and food was good. Chops was not as good as the Chops on Independence of the Seas. Windjammer was nasty and boring everyday.

Ship tip

Don't get on the boat before 2 if you have carry on luggage. Your rooms won't be ready and you will have to trek your luggage all over the boat if you want to do stuff.

Walk thru town and ride the bus for 1$ instead of paying a fortune on a taxi at the pier.

This is my favorite port. I could live here. The beaches are AMAZING and the water is gorgeous.
