Review summary

If the most important parts of the cruise are the port's and the service, then this is the cruise for you.  First, the pros:

1.  Service.  This ship is smaller than the Oasis class, and I believe the employees are less stressed out and better able to serve guests.  Dining room, room attendants, guest services, windjammer, pool area.... very friendly and helpful.

2.  Not crowded.  Yes, the Royal Promenade gets crowded for 70s night, but this ship never seemed crowded.  I never waited at the buffet or dining room.  Embarking and disembarking were organized.  Elevators and poolside were very manageable.

3.  The Port's.  They were great.  My favorite was Aruba with it's beaches.

4.  The Activities.  We enjoyed the  flow rider, rock climbing, the 2 waterslides, mini golf, volleyball, dodgeball, basketball, trivia contests.  Lots of fun.

Now, the cons:

1.  Entertainment.  The ice show was good.  The hypnotist show was good. The entertainment director, Elvis, was excellent.  The other musicals were boring.  There was one night that didn't have a show.  They played a movie instead....the same movie they played at poolside!

2.  Kids program.  They didn't staff this area well, and it looked very depressing whenever I walked by.  I didn't want to leave my kids there.

The food was not great, but it was good.  The Allure had better food.

Overall,  me and my family were very happy with this cruise.

Are they working on the rooms?

So has Adventure of the Sea's cabins been updated? Is this the ship your talking about? Thanks

cruisincaveman    7 years ago

Navigator and Adventure are the same size ships but Navigator added the extra cabins and made it feel like being cramped in like Oasis.

It is all personal opinion I felt oasis was too big and way to crowded pretty nice ship you just couldn't enjoy it bc you always felt packed like sardines on that ship!!

I am happy to find out they didn't have time to add the extra cabins to the upper decks. We were on navigator after refirb and the extra people on board ruined the character of the ship. Hopefully they can finish refurbing the cabins it has now and get her back to normal.

it seems all the public areas were done, lounges and corridors....just staterooms were a disgrace, I'm an agent, and right now I wouldn't want to recommend it

I suggest Oasis instead...lol....room fresheners might help, they need to replace the carpet, I don't know what decks might have been done, but nothing on 8, and we had friends in a junior suite on 9, and not it either

Which decks have refurbished rooms?

kloven    7 years ago

so would you suggest some room refresheners be brought?

deboftheseas    7 years ago

,we were on the same sailing as you. I agree with all you said, but the staterooms are in very poor condition. We had balcony on deck 8, none had been refurbished yet, moldy smell, worst cabin on any cruise we've had. We've done 25 cruises and are Diamond on RC....cruise was okay, cabins like Motel 6 on the interstate
