Adventure of the Seas has been recently refurbished and it shows - nice kids pool area, waterslides, new carpet, etc. The crew - MDR, room attendants, bar waiters - were excellent as usual. The food in the MDR to good to very good (yes, we had lobster on the last night). The itinerary - St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Aruba, and Curacao is excellent. The ice shows are stronger than those seen on other ships. My disappointment was that Chops was not yet open, and the cruise director and her staff did not have the energy or apparent want to interact with passengers as I have experienced on other ships (which made events rather long and boring and actually made me avoid things I typically enjoy - the 70's show, Quest - as I didn't want to suffer through the lack of energy of the mistress of cerremonies). Overall a nice way to spend the Christmas holidays.

Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
With a port-intensive itinerary, there appeared to be less activities. Of course there were plenty of opportunities to attend talks by the spa and service departments that were more sales pitches. The staff had a very low energy level which resulted in them having issues getting people to participate - e.g., in the morning stretch and fitness dance classes by the pool, they had to beg people to come up to participate in the class. I've never seen that happen before on a cruise.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The entertainment itself was good to very good with ice shows very strong. My issues were with the CD - she was boring with very little energy - with made the game shows, etc. very long and boring.

Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship was recently refurbished and it showed. My only negative here is the design for the balconies. They are essentially cut out of the steel and fully enclosed. You do not get much air in them and when the sun is shining in, it becomes a sauna.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Nothing different or special about this cabin versus others in the RCCL fleet. As always, I think they goofed by not having outlets between the beds. My major complaint is with the ship design and balconies on the AOS. It is like they were an afterthought and cut out of the steel. They are little steel cans with an opening that don't get much air and when the sun is shining, become extremely hot. I prefer the balcony design on other RCCL ships much more. The location of 9610 was excellent - close to stairs and elevator, and aft with easy access to gangway, etc.
Ship tip
Schooner Bar is a favorite place to relax and the bar waiters are excellent. The Champagne Bar is a nice pre-dinner place.
