Review summary
Embarkation was efficient. Room was clean and room steward was attentive and detail oriented. Windjammer buffet was great for a quick breakfast (enjoyed the waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, omellete/egg stations, etc.), and we liked the Mongolian Wok that was offered in Windjammer for dinner. Food in the main dining room was average but overall was bland for our liking and lacked variety (mashed potatoes or steamed rice were the sides almost every night). Desserts were not as tasty as we've had on other ships/cruise lines. (This dessert chef apparently really likes mousse since it was served every day.) Service and staff in both Windjammer and Sapphire Dining Room were excellent. Nightly entertainment options were lacking and really catered to the Puerto Rican passengers. The flowrider was very fun, entertaining to watch, and was definitely a great addition to the ship. We enjoyed the ports of call and arranged our own excursions on each island using taxis and /or local bus for transportation. Disembarkation was inefficient with only 4 customs agents for 3000+ passengers (give yourself plenty of time!). Given the increased cost for RCI cruises, we feel that other cruise lines provide a better value.

Sorry that you flet you had to give the ship such a lackluster rating. I don't think that it is the ship's fault that there were not more customs officials. I think that this is up to the port not the ship line but I do not know for sure. They are government employees not ship line employees.

Sounds like you had a good time but I wouldn't blame the cruise line for the number of Custom agents at port. That's your government in action
