Review summary

This cruise is fun for families. RCL is a relaxed cruise line with a casual dress code - maybe due to the destinations. We traveled with our 2 teenagers ages 14 and 18. We did find there is not much for 18 year olds in the evening. They are no longer allowed in the teen lounge but have permission to go to the 18 and up dance club. However there are older adults there as well - over 40 yr olds - which does not appeal to an 18 year old. I think the cruise line needs to put more energy into the 18-21 year olds.

Having been on on other cruise lines I was not impressed with the food in the upper deck buffet, however the main dining room was very good. Our servers were excellent - we looked forward to seeing them each evening. There was only one up charge restaurant on our ship - $30 extra pp which I thought was high. This ship needs more choices.

But overall, we had a good time. Nice fitness center. Rock climbing wall was great fun especially for my teen son. Small mini golf course. Ice skating rink. Destinations were fun.

Children's Programs

Not enough for 18-21 year olds. They were left to just wonder ship and hang out together in staterooms

Ship Quality

Old ship - 14 years! Showed with lack of electric outlets and modern conveniences. However it was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room for 4 but not enough power outlets. Very comfortable king bed. Kids shared pull out sofa which was ok. We prefer drop down bunk beds that we have had on other cruise lines. Our attendant was excellent. Room was very clean.

Ship tip

Adult pool packed by 10:00 am - start day early if you want to workout, get breakfast and go to pool. We enjoyed going to the main dining room for breakfast on days we had time. Go to the rock climbing wall and skating rink at the beginning of open climb or skate time - no lines.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Take a cab to one of the forts and walk from there. You can easily read about the history - no need for tourguide which the taxi drivers try to sell. Old San Juan is very walkable. Great food as some of the restaurants.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We rented a car for total price of $65 and drove the island. Saw everything the excursions offered.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

St. John's, Antigua

Went on an excellent Kayak Snorkel Eco excursion the ship offered. Highly recommend it.

Castries, St. Lucia

Beautiful lush island with very nice locals. Do a land and sea excursion so you can experience both. Great snorkeling.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Very crowded in Bridgetown - city like. Locals could be pushy. We found a super nice beach just a short walk from downtown. Water is amazing. Found a ton of silver dollars and had a nice lunch.
