Review summary

The ship was very nice, lots to do, and my kids loved using the interactive boards by the elevators to see what there was to do at any given time. The food was average, nothing terrible, but nothing great.  The excursions are way overpriced, we did a couple of them, but we also ventured out on our own and saved a lot of money doing the same things the cruise line offered, but at a much better price.  The crew was terrific, all very nice, very friendly, and happy.  A joy to be there.

bring your own snorkel and mask if you plan to go on your own.. there's a great reef off friar's beach we visited, and we rented the equipment there, which was fine

took the city bus to the jardin balatas, which saved us a lot of money, and was very easy, the garden itself was GORGEOUS!

You have to swim with the sea turtles, we did this on our own by taking a cab to a nearby beach and having the locals take us out on their boat, great time, again wish i had my own snorkel!

We did things on our own that were similiar to what was offered in excursions.  For example, on Martinique I wanted to go to the Jardin de Balatas, when we got off the ship, there were people on shore in a tourism booth who told us we could take the city bus for $2.50 roundtrip each.  She said we would need euros, and gave us a map to a nearby exchange location, and then mapped out where to pick up the bus and what number it was.. we hopped on the bus, had no problems, the driver told us where to get off, and then we paid at the garden for our entrance.  we paid about 74$ all together for 4 of us to do the trip.. it is $74 each as an excursion
