Short and sweet! by clwcruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

We experienced rainy weather in both Santa Barbara and Ensenada but were still able to get around with proper rain gear. The cruise would have been much better with sunny weather.

First Cruise w/ Emerald Princess & My Last Cruise w/ Princess by msrosa313

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Service was poor almost the entire trip, Vincent and Olga were the only people who provided great service. Food was awful the whole time even got sick from their 4-cheese pizza. Rooms weren't cleaned properly, staff was not friendly. Always had to flag someone down for a simple drink. The last dinner we had on the cruise was great Vincent was helpful/happy and the food was great! Olga was great during our specialty dining unfortunately the food was not.. regretting the $29 per person we paid that night considering most of us didn't even eat it. Did not appreciate how rude guest services was when we had questions about the 5 different holds they placed on my bank account, end result had no explanation, and ironic enough i asked if they would be placing a hold during check in and i was told NO, an awful inconvenient lie. Also has charges on my stateroom account that were not mine, had i not looked into the details i would have paid for them. This cruise nickel and dime you for everything and makes it extremely unenjoyable, would have gladly paid more for my booking to have better service and more inclusive options, first cruise with princess and most likely my entire family of 20 last cruise with them. Not much to do other than go to their casino. One night at dinner (due to a large group, we were split into 3 tables) both the other tables had finished desert and we still had not gotten our appetizers after waiting in line to get in for 30 minutes, and waiting at a table for 2 hours and they did not care to comp us or anything! Had a great time simply because i was surround by my family, not because of my cruise experience.

Great trip by NinaDelray

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Overall experience was fine. However, I sailed Ruby Princess in 2013 and I noticed that the furniture in the Horizon Buffett is still the same old one and it showed I..e., tattered & soiled fabric on chairs, scratched wood trim etc. The only visible updates were the hallway carpeting. The room carpeting was soiled. The wait staff was excellent, especially. In the international cafe which in my opinion has the best food. The excursions were wonderful except for Ensenada city tour...T

Good trip on the Eurodam by tednorman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

We had a lovely time on this trip, the facilities onboard were well taken care of and very nice, the first was good for a repositioning cruise and the activities, like trivia, were fun.

Liked the Eurodam. The main dining room was absolutely the best on any cruise. The service was prime! All 3 servers - great, terrific, etc! Can't give them enough compliments. I would say the chef is also at the top of his game, and has the kitchen cooking! Really, really good. All the staff on the ship were just fantastic. Also enjoyed all the old people tottering around.

N.C.L.should check out this San Fran. tour/restaurant where we were upstairs and had to go by a service area with slippy tiled floor I had to warn our table.poor quality food. main item was noodles under cooked Luke warm served with broccoli.

AMAZING and unique cruise by marcquessa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

We went on this cruise as part of our honeymoon. It was beautiful! Vancouver was rainy, so bring ponchos and an umbrella or else you'll pay an arm and a leg for them there. There are two seasons in Vancouver.... wet and slightly less wet. Make sure you check out the totem poles! Victoria we decided to go off the beaten path and drove up into the highlands to admire the local hikes. If you didn't check out the totem poles in Vancouver, this will be your last chance! Take some time to walk around fisherman's wharf too! Both days at sea were SO relaxing! The pools were perfect and there was plenty of seating! Hardly anyone got into the pool, so it was nice and roomy! We did not have enough time in San Francisco. Just a couple hours to walk around. Plan to get off the ship late. That way it doesn't ruin your time. The line to get off the boat started by the back stairs and wound all the way to the front stairs. Plan to wait. Plan to wait. PLAN TO WAIT. The room was lovely! There was a weird smell to the corridors to the room. But it smelled like some sort of cleaning products. Weird, but clean. Overall, I plan on boarding the Norwegian Bliss again. It was a wonderful experience. The entertainment was great. The service was great. I can't wait to go back!

My first time cruising was fantastic on the Bliss by SeaMichael

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed my first cruise. Not having experienced the age of cruising that didn't require reservations for everything or a cruise line where everything was included I was generally happy with the experience for the price of this cruise. The meals and entertainment at home alone would have cost as much as I paid per day. I can also see how some people don't like the big ships, because you likely won't see the same people over and over and won't make the same friendships like you would on a smaller ship or a cruise where you get seated with the same people for dining each day. I guess I don't know what I'm missing just yet.

Relaxing California Coastal Cruise by karenthestarr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Wonderful, relaxing cruise. We saw it all and used mostly walking and public transportation. Plan well and you can see much. We have taken this cruise before and will take it again. There is much to see in every port and you need to visit (especially Santa Barbara and Long Beach) several times to appreciate the beauty of these places.

Peaceful Pacific Northwest by mclaindeb2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Very well laid-out ship. Royal Carribean needs to address the cigarette smoke issue where passengers are not forced to walk through the terrible odor.

Short but sweet. by scotchirisheyz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

A one-day cruise is a great way to get a "taste" of what to expect. However, it is often difficult to fit everything in and still relax. The Emerald Princess was a nice ship and the staff was wonderful, as always. Food was excellent at the main dining room. Hard to gauge everything because of time constraints but really enjoyed the blankets and food delivered lounge chair-side for Movies Under the Stars. The Spa was lovely. Emergency drill and disembarkation was a little confusing and not well marked or communicated was my only complaint.
