Great Experience, First time Solo Cruiser by dnsqltr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

The west coast itinerary was great. One of the most thrilling experiences was leaving and going under the Golden Gate Bridge. Don't know if it was the very windy day or the excitement of the beginning of the trip but it was UNFORGETTABLE! I forgot to mention that this cruise was over Halloween and on the 31st there were decorations and all of the staff dresses up at dinner. It was very cool. How much did I like this cruise? Well I have booked the same cruise for March 2020!

Good cruise...until it wasn't. by missttcs99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

What began as a rough sailing turned into beautiful port days in Astoria, Seattle and Vancouver. BEAUTIFUL. Then suddenly the captain says we're not going to Victoria, a storm is coming so we have to get back home. So we spent two boring days at sea, yawning through art auctions and wandering the ship looking for something to do. Arrived back home over 12 hours before our cruise was scheduled to end, then herded through immigration processing while being told "please stay! enjoy your time onboard!" Except that the whole schedule was basically scrapped so it was all confusion and a mess. How much fun is it to stay aboard and listen to a band in the piazza while a huge line of people winds thru to the gangway for immigration processing (many with suitcases in tow?)

Was good until it wasn’t by barnes4430

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

The cruise was good until it wasn’t Seattle tour was the first disappointment but it got refunded. Then Victoria was cancelled making us have more sea days than expected. Several things were closed for maintenance and I’m not used to seeing things being worked on on other cruises I’ve been on. It would be nice if princess did something since we did not get the vacation we paid for with the cancelled port of call

My Review Summary has been REDACTED !!!!!! Missing comments!!!!! 3.3 out of 5 by ValJohns

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

I have cruised with Carnival; first time with Princess. I realize this was the Medallion cruise with a touch more of class than the average cruise. While I am in good health, I am 64 years old. Events and areas are spread out too much. The ship is larger (longer) than I cared for. The struggle with getting my drinks from the waiters for the first half of the cruise and that my plan did not cover canned soda (portable), set me back in being impressed. Not wiping the tables was a BIG NO. I used sanitizer on mine. There was an issue with our group picture. The picture included other passengers that were yards behind us. There was an issue with ordering our picture - and no one seemed to have an answer. We had to wait another day to get them. The apps never did work on my phone. Our group was scheduled to use a couple of areas and we had to relocate more than once. Very upsetting that where we were put for our meeting was next to a clothing sale! The lady was on a microphone hollering the entire time. We did politely ask her to lower the volume-she wouldn't, we asked for just a couple of moment while we recited the Pledge of Alligence and conducted a quick ceremony in honor of our deceased- she wouldn't. She said she had to do what she did so she could get paid. As the Secretary of the Women of the Air Force Association, I had a hard time reading minutes, etc. Carnival gives their veterans a flag, pin, and have a cake for their meet and greet. They provide a side area in the restaurant the day after so we can sit down and share coffee, danish, conversation, and comradery; spouses also attend this. During our meet and greet a non-military person got the microphone and talked and talked. That should not have happened. I may sail Princess again, but not the Medallion.

Cruise entertainment was a sleeper. Would not recommend princess for this reason by tasha3622

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

This will be my last cruise with Princess. Beautiful ships great customer service but the entertainment really lacks. This was my 3rd cruise and it seems to have gotten worse each time. Also their shore excursions are way too expensive for what you get. Do your research For better prices from competitors.

Cool trip along the coast by gortel1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

It was just a crusie along the coast of the US. Rough seas for the days between BC to San Francisico. Over all nice easy cruise. Nothing knock my socks off so it was an average cruise.

Fun Overnight Cruise by LandJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Overnight cruise is too short, but it gives a newbie a taste of cruising and an easy way to get credit for a cruise for loyalty points.
